3 Getting Started

Follow the instructions in this chapter in order.

Charging the Built-in Battery

The portable radioprijamnik is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery.

Note: The ? icon appears when the battery is low. Charge the built-in battery as soon as possible.

Connect the Type-C port on the portable radioprijamnik to a power outlet (5 V = 2 A) using the supplied Type-C cable.

When the portable radioprijamnik is charging, the icon is displayed.

When the portable radioprijamnik is fully charged, the icon is displayed.

Note: The device contains built-in lithium batteries. The charging capacity of lithium batteries will decrease over time due to their self-discharge characteristics. To ensure the longevity of the device's battery, it is recommended to charge the built-in lithium battery to about 50% every 6 months when the device is not in use.

Powering On/Off or Switching to Standby

Note: A Bluetooth device is not connected for more than 15 minutes, or is connected but not playing. The radioprijamnik automatically switches to standby mode.

In any operating mode, press and hold [POWER] for three seconds to turn off the device directly. The screen will turn off.

Adjusting Volume

While listening, turn the knob to adjust the volume.

Adjusting Display Brightness

You can select different brightness levels or turn off the display.

  1. Press [MENU] to access the menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Display], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Backlight level], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select the brightness level (High, Medium, Low) on the screen, then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  5. Press [BACK] to exit the menu.

Navigating the Standby Menu

When the device is in standby mode, you can access the menu for control options.

  1. In standby mode, press [MENU] to access the menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select a menu option, then press [SELECT] to confirm the option and enter the sub-menu.
  3. [Display]: Adjusts backlight, dimming, and timeout settings.
  4. [Alarm]: Turns alarm 1 or 2 on/off and sets the alarm.
  5. [Clock]: Sets time synchronization, date/time, and selects time and date formats.
  6. [System]: Adjusts system settings.
  7. Repeat step 2 if a sub-option is available under an option.
  8. Press [BACK] to return to the previous menu.

Note: If no button is pressed for 30 seconds, you will exit the menu.

4 Setting the Clock

Automatic Clock Setting

  1. Press [MENU] to access the menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Clock], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Set auto/manual], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Auto(DAB/RDS)], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  5. Press [BACK] to return to the previous menu.

When tuned to a DAB/FM RDS station, the device can synchronize with the time automatically broadcast by the DAB/FM RDS station (with CT information).

Manual Clock Setting

  1. Press [MENU] to access the menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Clock], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Set date&time], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select the hour, then press [SELECT] to confirm. The minutes will flash.
  5. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select the minutes, then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  6. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select the month, then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  7. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select the day, then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  8. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select the year, then press [SELECT] to confirm. The time is set.
  9. Press [BACK] to return to the previous menu.

Setting the Time Format

  1. Press [MENU] to access the menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Clock], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Set 12H/24H], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [12H] or [24H], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  5. Press [BACK] to return to the previous menu.

Setting the Date Format

  1. Press [MENU] to access the menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Clock], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Set date format], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select the date format [MM-DD-YYYY], [DD-MM-YYYY], or [YYYY-MM-DD], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  5. Press [BACK] to return to the previous menu.

Clock Style

  1. Press [MENU] to access the menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Clock], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Clock style], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Classic analog] or [Normal digital], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  5. Press [BACK] to return to the previous menu.

5 Setting Alarms

Setting the Alarm Time

Note: Ensure that the clock is set correctly.

  1. Press [MENU] to access the menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Alarm], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Alarm 1 Setup] or [Alarm 2 Setup], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Wake up time], then press [SELECT] to confirm. The hour will flash.
  5. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to set the hour, then press [SELECT] to confirm. The minutes will flash.
  6. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to set the minutes, then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  7. If [Once] is selected for the alarm period, use ◀▶ and [SELECT] to set the alarm date.
  8. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Frequency], then press [SELECT] to confirm. The alarm repeat cycle will flash.
  9. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select the alarm repeat cycle (Once, Daily, Weekdays, or Weekend), then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  10. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Source], then press [SELECT] to confirm. The alarm source will flash.
  11. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select the source (Buzzer, DAB, or FM station), then press [SELECT] to confirm.

If [DAB] or [FM] is selected as the alarm source (Buzzer is default), the alarm menu will have an additional [Source] option. Use ◀▶ and [SELECT] to select the preset DAB or FM station number.

Press [BACK] to return to the previous menu. The corresponding alarm icon will appear.

Tip: The unit exits the alarm setting mode after 30 seconds of inactivity. If DAB/FM is selected as the alarm source but no preset station is selected, the Buzzer will activate automatically. The alarm timeout is 60 minutes if the user takes no action.

Activating/Deactivating the Alarm Timer

  1. Press [MENU] to access the menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Alarm], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Alarm 1] or [Alarm 2], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [On] or [Off], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  5. Press [BACK] to return to the previous menu.

If the alarm timer is deactivated, the icon will appear. If the alarm timer is deactivated, the icon will disappear.

Snooze

  1. When the alarm sounds, press [SNOOZE]. The alarm is snoozed and will sound again in 10 minutes (default is 10 minutes).
  2. During the snooze period, press ◀▶ to select another period (in minutes) for the alarm to sound again: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 (minutes).
  3. During the snooze period, press and hold ◀▶ for 3 seconds to cancel the snooze. The alarm stops.

Stopping Alarm Sounds

When the alarm sounds, press the [SNOOZE] button to pause the alarm sound or enter snooze mode, or press the alarm stop button. The alarm stops, but the alarm settings remain.

Setting the Sleep Timer

The portable radioprijamnik can automatically switch to standby mode after setting the sleep timer.

  1. Turn on the unit.
  2. Press [SLEEP] to select the sleep time.
  3. Continuously press [SLEEP] to select other sleep times: Off, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120 (minutes).

To deactivate the sleep timer: Repeat the above steps, setting the sleep timer to Off.

6 Listening to DAB Radio

Note: Keep the portable radioprijamnik away from other electrical devices to avoid radio interference. Extend and adjust the DAB/FM antenna fully for optimal reception.

Tuning to DAB Radio Stations

The first time you select DAB radio mode, or if the station list is empty, the radioprijamnik will perform a full scan automatically.

  1. Turn on the unit.
  2. Press to select DAB mode. [Scanning...] is displayed. The radioprijamnik automatically scans all DAB radio stations and then broadcasts the first available station. The station list is saved in the radioprijamnik. The next time you turn on the radioprijamnik, stations will not be scanned.
  3. All stations have been found. Press ◀▶ to browse through the found stations, then press [SELECT] to confirm your selection.
  4. To re-tune, press and hold [SCAN] for 3 seconds to perform a quick scan again.
  5. Press to access the DAB menu, then press [SELECT] to enter [Full scan]. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Yes] (to activate a full scan) or [No], then press [SELECT] to confirm.

Manual Tuning

In addition to automatic tuning, you can manually tune the receiver. This helps align the antenna or add stations you missed during the automatic scan.

  1. Press to access the DAB menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Manual tune], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to navigate through DAB channels numbered from 5A to 13F, then press [SELECT] to confirm. The unit will display the frequency and start scanning.
  4. Press to exit the menu.

Storing DAB Radio Stations

Note: You can manually store a maximum of 20 DAB radio stations.

  1. In DAB mode, tune to a DAB radio station.
  2. To activate the programming mode, press and hold for 3 seconds. The screen displays a list of preset stations.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select a number.
  4. Press [SELECT] to store the preset station.
  5. The screen will display "Preset xx Stored".
  6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 to store more DAB radio stations.

Tip: To remove a preset FM radio station, store another one in its place.

Storing and Selecting Favorite Stations

Note: Favorite stations can be stored using direct buttons 1 or 2.

  1. In DAB mode, tune to a DAB radio station.
  2. Press and hold button 1 or 2 for 3 seconds to directly save the current station to the corresponding position. "Preset 1 or 2 stored" is displayed. The station is stored in the selected position.
  3. In DAB mode, press 1 or 2 to directly select a preset radio station (1 or 2).

Selecting a Preset Radio Station

  1. In DAB mode, press .
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select a preset radio station.

Note: After 3 seconds, the preset radio station will be confirmed automatically.

Pruning Invalid Stations

  1. Press to access the DAB menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Prune], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Yes] (to remove all invalid stations from the list) or [No], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Press to exit the menu.

DRC (Dynamic Range Control)

DRC compresses the dynamic range of the radio signal, increasing the volume of quiet sounds and reducing the volume of loud sounds.

  1. Press to access the DAB menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [DRC level], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [High], [Low], or [Off], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Press to exit the menu.

While listening to DAB radio, press and hold for three seconds to display the following information (if available):

While listening to DAB, you can access the menu for control options.

  1. Press to access the DAB menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select a menu option, then press [SELECT] to confirm the option and enter the sub-menu.
  3. [Full scan]: Scan and store all available DAB radio stations.
  4. [Manual tune]: Manually tune a specific channel/frequency and add it to the station list.
  5. [Prune]: Remove invalid stations from the station list.
  6. [DRC level]: Compresses the dynamic range of the radio signal, increasing the volume of quiet sounds and reducing the volume of loud sounds.
  7. [Kitchen timer]: Sets the kitchen timer.
  8. [Sleep timer]: Sets the sleep timer.
  9. [Display]: Adjusts backlight, dimming, and timeout settings.
  10. [Alarm]: Turns alarm on/off and sets the alarm.
  11. [Clock]: Sets time synchronization, date/time, and selects time and date formats.
  12. [System]: Adjusts system settings.
  13. Repeat step 2 if a sub-option is available under an option.
  14. Press to return to the previous menu.

Note: If no button is pressed for 30 seconds, you will exit the menu.

7 Listening to FM Radio

Note: Keep the portable radioprijamnik away from other electrical devices to avoid radio interference. Extend and adjust the DAB/FM antenna fully for optimal reception.

Auto Tuning

  1. Press [POWER] to turn on the unit.
  2. Press to select FM mode.
  3. Press and hold for 3 seconds. The portable radioprijamnik automatically switches to a station with a strong signal.

Manual Tuning

Press ◀▶ to select the frequency for manual station tuning.

Note: The tuning step of the portable radioprijamnik is 50 KHz. The radio frequency on the display will increase by 0.05 MHz when pressing ◀▶.

Scan and Auto-Store FM Radio Stations

Note: You can store a maximum of 20 FM radio stations.

In FM mode, press and hold [SCAN] for three seconds. [Auto Scanning...] is displayed. The radioprijamnik automatically scans all FM radio stations and then broadcasts the first available station.

Manually Storing FM Radio Stations

  1. In FM mode, tune to an FM radio station.
  2. To activate the programming mode, press and hold for 3 seconds. The screen displays a list of preset stations.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select a number.
  4. Press [SELECT] to store the preset station.
  5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 to store more FM radio stations.

Tip: To remove a preset station, store another one in its place if the number of preset stations exceeds 20.

Storing and Selecting Favorite Stations

Note: Favorite stations can be stored using direct buttons 1 or 2.

  1. In FM mode, tune to an FM radio station.
  2. Press and hold button 1 or 2 for 3 seconds to directly save the current station to the corresponding position. "Preset 1 or 2 stored" is displayed. The station number and frequency of the preset station are displayed.
  3. In FM mode, press 1 or 2 to directly select a preset radio station (1 or 2).

Selecting a Preset Radio Station

  1. In FM mode, press .
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select a preset radio station.

Note: After three seconds, the preset radio station will be confirmed automatically.

Setting Scan Sensitivity

  1. Press to access the FM menu.
  2. Press [SELECT] to enter [Scan setting].
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Strong] (strong stations only) or [All] (all stations), then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Press to exit the menu.

Displaying RDS Information

RDS (Radio Data System) is a service that allows FM stations to transmit additional information.

  1. Tune to an FM RDS station.
  2. Press and hold for three seconds to display the following information (if available):

  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select a menu option, then press [SELECT] to confirm the option and enter the sub-menu.

  4. [Kitchen timer]: Sets the kitchen timer.
  5. [Sleep timer]: Sets the sleep timer.
  6. [Display]: Adjusts backlight, dimming, and timeout settings.
  7. [Alarm]: Turns alarm on/off and sets the alarm.
  8. [Clock]: Sets time synchronization, date/time, and selects time and date formats.
  9. [System]: Adjusts system settings.
  10. Repeat step 2 if a sub-option is available under an option.
  11. Press to return to the previous menu.

Note: If no button is pressed for 30 seconds, you will exit the menu.

FM Menu Structure Overview:

8 Listening to Bluetooth® Music

Note: The operating range between the unit and the Bluetooth device is approximately 25 meters (open area). Compatibility with all Bluetooth® devices is not guaranteed. Obstructions between the unit and the device may reduce the operating range. Keep away from other electronic devices that may cause interference. The unit will disconnect when the device moves out of the operating range.

Connecting Bluetooth®

  1. Press to select Bluetooth mode. [Not Connected] will appear.
  2. On your Bluetooth device, turn on Bluetooth, search for, and select [Philips TAV2000DB] to start pairing. If the connection is successful: You will hear a voice prompt. [Connected] will appear.

Disconnecting Bluetooth®

Alternatively:

  1. Press to access the Bluetooth menu.
  2. Press [SELECT] to select [Bluetooth pair].
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Yes] (to disconnect the Bluetooth® connection and enter pairing mode), then press [SELECT] to confirm.

Clearing Bluetooth® Pairing Records

  1. Press to access the Bluetooth menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Bluetooth clean], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Yes] to disconnect the current connection, or select [No] to maintain the connection, then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Press to exit the menu. [Pairing] will appear.

Music Playback

When playing music on a Bluetooth® device, you can use this unit to control music playback.

Navigating the Bluetooth® Menu

While listening via Bluetooth®, you can access the menu for control options.

  1. Press to access the Bluetooth menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select a menu option, then press [SELECT] to confirm the option and enter the sub-menu.
  3. [Bluetooth pair]: Select to disconnect the Bluetooth connection and enter pairing mode.
  4. [Bluetooth clean]: Erase Bluetooth pairing records.
  5. [Kitchen timer]: Sets the kitchen timer.
  6. [Sleep timer]: Sets the sleep timer.
  7. [Display]: Adjusts backlight, dimming, and timeout settings.
  8. [Alarm]: Turns alarm on/off and sets the alarm.
  9. [Clock]: Sets time synchronization, date/time, and selects time and date formats.
  10. [System]: Adjusts system settings.
  11. Repeat step 2 if a sub-option is available under an option.
  12. Press to return to the previous menu.

Note: If no button is pressed for 30 seconds, you will exit the menu.

9 Setting the Kitchen Timer

Note: The unit exits menu settings after 30 seconds of inactivity.

Setting the Kitchen Timer

  1. Press [POWER] to turn on the unit.
  2. Press to access the menu.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Kitchen timer], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Kitchen timer setup], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  5. By pressing and holding , you can enter the kitchen timer. The hour digits will flash.
  6. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to set the hour, then press [SELECT] to confirm. The minute digits will flash.
  7. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to set the minutes, then press [SELECT] to confirm. The second digit will flash.
  8. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [On/Off], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  9. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [On] (activate) or [Off] (deactivate) the kitchen timer, then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  10. Press [BACK] to return to the previous menu. The ⏱️ icon and the kitchen timer will appear.

Note: The kitchen timer timeout is 60 minutes if the user takes no action.

Stopping Kitchen Timer Sounds

When the kitchen timer rings, press any key to stop the buzzer.

Canceling the Kitchen Timer

  1. If you want to cancel the kitchen timer, press to access the menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Kitchen timer], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [On/Off], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Off], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  5. Press [BACK] to exit the menu.

Note: The kitchen timer can be canceled automatically when the unit is on.

Selecting Menu Language

  1. Press to access the menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [System], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Language], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select the menu display language, then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  5. Press [BACK] to return to the previous menu.

Available languages: English, Deutsch, Italiano, Français, Norsk, Dansk, Nederlands, Svenska, Español, Suomi, Polski.

Listening Through Headphones

Plug headphones into the jack on the back of the main unit.

Restoring Factory Settings

  1. Press to access the menu.
  2. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [System], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  3. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Factory reset], then press [SELECT] to confirm.
  4. Turn the rotary knob or press ◀▶ to select [Yes] (to reset all radioprijamnik settings to factory default values), then press [SELECT] to confirm. [Restarting...] is displayed.
