IKEA MYDAL Bunk Bed Assembly Instructions
This document provides instructions for assembling the IKEA MYDAL bunk bed frame. Please ensure you have all parts and tools before beginning.
Required Tools and Parts
Tools: Screwdriver, Hammer.
Parts List:
- Screws (various types and quantities: 24x, 15x, 64x)
- Wooden Dowels (48x, 40x)
- Allen Keys (1x, 1x)
Assembly Steps
Step 1: Prepare the side panels. Ensure correct orientation as indicated by the finger pointing symbol. Avoid incorrect assembly shown with an 'X' symbol.
Step 2: Attach the first side panel to the base frame using screws (120209) and dowels (100514). Use the Allen key (100001) for screws. Ensure the dowels are inserted correctly.
Step 3: Attach the second side panel to the base frame using dowels (101350). Ensure correct alignment.
Step 4: Secure the slatted bed bases to the frame using screws (100514) and the Allen key (100001). Ensure the correct number of screws are used per section.
Step 5: Attach the upper side rails to the main frame using screws (101350) and dowels (100514). Ensure correct orientation.
Step 6: Attach the remaining side rails using screws (120209) and dowels (100514). Use the Allen key (100001).
Step 7: Assemble the headboard and footboard sections. Insert dowels (101350) into the designated holes. Attach the side rails to the headboard/footboard posts using screws (100514) and the Allen key (100001).
Step 8: Continue assembling the frame by attaching the remaining side rails and supports. Use screws (120208) and dowels (100514) with the Allen key (100001).
Step 9: Attach the second set of side rails to the main frame. Use screws (100514) and dowels (101350).
Step 10: Secure the upper bunk frame. Use screws (120209) and dowels (100514) with the Allen key (100001).
Step 11: Attach the ladder supports using dowels (101350) and screws (120208). Use the Allen key (100001).
Step 12: Secure the ladder structure to the bunk bed frame using screws (110719) and dowels. Use a hammer to gently tap the dowels into place, but avoid hitting the screws directly.
Step 13: Attach the slatted bed bases to both the upper and lower bunks. Use screws (110719) and dowels. Ensure all slats are correctly positioned and secured.
Step 14: Continue securing the slatted bed bases across both levels of the bunk bed.
Step 15: Attach the ladder to the bunk bed frame using dowels (101350).
Step 16: Secure the ladder to the frame using screws (130718) and dowels (100602). Use Allen keys (100001 and 100002).
Step 17: Attach the ladder to the upper bunk frame using screws (100514) and dowels (120208). Use the Allen key (100001).
Step 18: Secure the ladder to the side of the bunk bed using screws (100001) and dowels (100514).
Step 19: Attach the ladder to the frame using screws (130718) and dowels (100602). Use Allen keys (100001 and 100002).
Step 20: Secure the ladder to the frame using dowels (101350).
Step 21: Attach the ladder to the frame using screws (130718) and dowels (100602). Use Allen keys (100001 and 100002).
Step 22: Secure the ladder to the frame using screws (120208) and dowels (100514). Use the Allen key (100001).
Step 23: Attach the ladder to the frame using dowels (101350).
Step 24: Secure the ladder to the frame using screws (130718) and dowels (100602). Use Allen keys (100001 and 100002).
Step 25: Secure the ladder to the frame using screws (120208) and dowels (100514). Use the Allen key (100001).
Step 26: Final check of all connections. Ensure all screws are tightened and the structure is stable. The diagram shows hand symbols indicating points to check for stability.
Important Note: Ensure mattresses used are of the correct size (90x200 cm) and do not exceed the recommended thickness. The diagram shows a correct mattress placement and an incorrect placement with an 'X'.
