IKEA MYDAL Bunk Bed Assembly Instructions

This document provides instructions for assembling the IKEA MYDAL bunk bed frame.

Assembly Steps

Follow these steps carefully to assemble your MYDAL bunk bed.

Step 1

Attach part 100001 to the side panel using screws 120209 and dowels 100514. Ensure correct orientation as shown in the diagram. Do not overtighten.

Step 2

Connect the side panels using dowels 101350. Four dowels are used in this step.

Step 3

Attach the bed slats. Ensure the correct side faces up. Use dowels 101350. Two dowels are used per slat.

Step 4

Secure the bed frame using screws 120209 and dowels 100514. Attach the long support beams to the side panels.

Step 5

Insert dowels 101350 into the designated holes on the bed frame components.

Step 6

Attach the upper side rails using screws 120209 and dowels 100514. Use the provided tool for tightening.

Step 7

Attach the ladder supports using part 128545 and screws 100001.

Step 8

Attach the headboard and footboard panels. Use screws 101350.

Step 9

Attach the remaining side rails using screws 100514 and dowels 120208.

Step 10

Attach the second set of side rails using screws 100514 and dowels 120208.

Step 11

Secure the upper bunk frame using screws 100514 and dowels 120208.

Step 12

Attach the ladder rails using screws 101350.

Step 13

Attach the central support beams using screws 110719.

Step 14

Insert all bed slats. Use screws 110719 to secure them. Approximately 30 screws are used in this step.

Repeat step 14 for the second bunk bed level.

Step 16

Attach the ladder steps using dowels 101350.

Place the upper bunk frame onto the lower bunk frame.

Secure the upper bunk frame using screws 100514 and dowels 120208.

Attach the protective rails using dowels 101350.

Secure the upper bunk frame using screws 130718 and dowels 100602.

Attach the ladder to the bunk bed using screws 100514 and dowels 120208.

Attach the ladder steps using dowels 101350.

Secure the upper bunk frame using screws 130718 and dowels 100602.

Attach the ladder to the bunk bed using screws 100514 and dowels 120208.

Secure the upper bunk frame using screws 130718 and dowels 100602.

Final Check

Ensure all screws and dowels are securely fastened. Check the stability of the bunk bed before use. The maximum mattress thickness is 19 cm (7 1/2"). The mattress size should be 92 x 189 cm (36 1/4" x 74 3/8").
