Getting Started Guide
Assembly
The Vanquish 340 metal detector requires simple assembly before use. The diagram shows how to connect the control box, shaft sections, and coil. It illustrates steps for attaching the lower shaft to the coil, connecting the middle shaft, mounting the control box, and plugging in the coil cable. The diagram also indicates the location of the four AA batteries.
- Attach the lower shaft to the search coil.
- Connect the middle shaft to the lower shaft.
- Mount the control box onto the middle shaft.
- Connect the coil cable to the control box.
- Adjust the shaft length for comfortable use.
- Insert 4 x AA batteries into the battery compartment.
Easy Start
Getting started with your Vanquish 340 is straightforward:
- Turn on the device by pressing the power button ?.
- Wait approximately 5 seconds for the detector to initialize.
- You are now ready to begin detecting.
Control Panel and Display
The control panel and display provide all the necessary information and controls for your metal detector.
Control Panel
The control panel features the following key components:
- 1. Power On/Off: Press to turn the device on or off.
- 2. Volume Adjust: Use the buttons ? to increase or decrease audio volume.
- 3. Sensitivity Adjust: Use the buttons ⚙️ to increase or decrease detection sensitivity.
- 4. Search Mode Button: Press to cycle through the available search modes.
Display Indicators
The display screen provides detailed information:
- 6. Battery Level: Indicates remaining battery power.
- 7. Volume Level: Shows the current audio volume setting ?.
- 8. Sensitivity Level: Displays the current sensitivity setting ⚙️.
- 9. Target ID Number: A numerical value (0-99) representing the likely type of metal detected.
- 10. Discrimination Level: Shows the level of discrimination set, filtering out unwanted targets.
- 11. Search Mode: Indicates the currently active search mode (Coin ?, Jewelry ?, Relic [relic]).
- 12. Metal Discrimination: Visual representation of discrimination settings, indicating which metals are being rejected.
Search Modes
The Vanquish 340 offers several pre-set search modes tailored for different targets:
- Coin: Designed to find coins ? while effectively discriminating trash ?️ on fields and beaches.
- Jewelry: Optimized for discovering jewelry ?, regardless of ground conditions.
- Relic: Detects all types of metal, including iron, suitable for finding historical artifacts.
