Instruction Manual and Product Information
Introduction
Please read this instruction manual before installing this speaker. This document provides essential information for safe and optimal use of your Pioneer car-use component subwoofers.
Safety Warnings
❗ WARNING: The Safety of Your Ears is in Your Hands
Play music at a safe level to protect your hearing. Sound can be deceiving; over time, your hearing adapts to higher volumes, making them seem normal but potentially harmful. Set your equipment at a safe level BEFORE your hearing adapts.
Establishing a Safe Level:
- Set your volume control at a low setting.
- Slowly increase the sound until you can hear it comfortably and clearly, without distortion.
- Once a comfortable sound level is established, set the dial and leave it there.
Guidelines to Observe:
- Do not turn up the volume so high that you can't hear what's around you.
- Use caution or temporarily discontinue use in potentially hazardous situations.
- Do not use headphones while operating a motorized vehicle, as this can create a traffic hazard and is illegal in many areas.
⚠️ CAUTION: Preventing Speaker Damage
- If music sounds distorted or additional sounds are perceived at high volume, lower the volume.
- This speaker can get hot during continuous use at full volume. Avoid touching it directly or placing objects near it, as it may cause burns or damage.
- PIONEER recommends using this speaker with amplifiers whose continuous (RMS) output is lower than the speaker's nominal input power.
- For Dual Voice Coil (DVC) models, never connect only one voice coil. Both voice coils must be connected to the amplifier for correct operation.
- Using an enclosure-use subwoofer in free-air conditions (without an enclosure) can result in inaccurate sound and reduced power handling (to 1/4 of usual levels), potentially causing permanent damage.
Proposition 65 Warning: Handling the cord on this product or associated accessories may expose you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defect or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.
