Operating Principle (Fig. 1)
The hob exploits the electromagnetic properties of most cooking vessels. The coil (inductor) produces the electromagnetic field, which is operated and controlled by the electronic circuit. The heat is transmitted to food by the cooking vessel itself.
Key Components (Fig. 1):
- Vessel
- Induced current
- Magnetic field
- Inductor
- Electronic circuit
- Power supply
The cooking process offers minimum heat loss (high efficiency). The system stops automatically when the vessel is removed or even just lifted from the hob. The electronic circuit guarantees maximum flexibility and fine adjustments.
Key Controls
The induction hob features the following controls:
Reference | Description |
---|---|
A | Zone select key |
B | Child lock key |
C | ON/OFF key ⏻ |
D | Power/Timer slider regulating key |
E | Boost control key |
F | Timer key |

Finishing Cooking
- Touch the relevant zone select key (A) that you wish to switch off.
- Press the slider regulating key (D) control to the "0" level.
Hot Surface Indicator: The letter "H" will show which cooking zone is hot to touch. It will disappear when the surface has cooled down to a safe temperature. This feature can also be used for energy saving by heating further pans on a still-hot surface.
Boost Function
Activate Boost: Select the heating zone (A), then touch the boost control key (E). The indicator will show "P.", and the power will reach maximum.
Cancel Boost: Select the zone (A), then use the slider regulating key (D) to cancel the Boost function. The cooking zone will revert to level 9. The Boost function can work on any cooking zone and reverts to level 9 after 5 minutes.
Child Lock Function
You can lock the controls to prevent unintended use (e.g., children accidentally turning on cooking zones). When locked, all controls except the OFF control are disabled.
To Lock Controls: Touch the keylock control (B) for 3 seconds. The timer indicator will show "Lo".
To Unlock Controls: Ensure the induction hob is turned on. Touch and hold the keylock control (B) for a while. You can now start using your induction hob.
Note: When the hob is in lock mode, all controls are disabled except OFF. The OFF control can always be used in an emergency, but the hob must be unlocked for the next operation.
Safety Features
- Over-Temperature Protection: A temperature sensor monitors the hob's internal temperature and stops operation automatically if an excessive temperature is detected.
- Detection of Small Articles: If an unsuitable size or non-magnetic pan (e.g., aluminum), or another small item (e.g., knife, fork, key) is left on the hob, the hob automatically goes into standby mode in 1 minute. The fan will continue cooling the induction hob for a further 1 minute.
- Auto Shutdown Protection: This safety function automatically shuts down the hob if you forget to turn it off. Default working times for various power levels are shown below:
Power level | 1~3 | 4~6 | 7~8 | 9 |
---|---|---|---|---|
Default working timer (min) | 240 | 180 | 120 | 90 |
When the pot is removed, the induction hob stops heating immediately and switches off automatically after 2 minutes.
Using the Timer
You can use the timer in two ways:
- Minute Minder: The timer will not turn any cooking zone off when the set time is up.
- Zone Timer: Sets a specific cooking zone to turn off after the set time.
The timer can be set for up to 99 minutes.
Using the Timer as a Minute Minder
If you are not selecting any cooking zone:
- Ensure the cooktop is turned on.
- Touch the Timer key (F). The minder indicator will start flashing "10". You can now set the timer.
- Use the "+" or "-" buttons to set the timing from 1 to 99 minutes. Tap for 1-minute increments; touch and hold for 10-minute increments. Touching both "-" and "+" together cancels the timer.
- When the time is set, it will begin to count down immediately, showing the remaining time.
- A buzzer will beep for 30 seconds, and the timer indicator will turn off when the setting time is finished.
Note: The minute minder function only works in normal mode.
Setting the Timer to Turn One or More Cooking Zones Off
If the timer is set for one zone:
- Select the relevant cooking zone by touching its zone select key (A).
- Press the Timer key (F). The minder indicator will start flashing "10". You can now set the timer.

- When the time is set, it will begin to count down immediately. The display will show the remaining time, and the timer indicator will flash for 5 seconds.
Note: The red dot next to the power level indicator will illuminate, indicating that the zone is selected.
- When the cooking timer expires, the corresponding cooking zone will be switched off automatically. Other cooking zones will keep operating if they were turned on previously.
- When using the timer as an alarm and to switch off zones together, the display will show the remaining time of the alarm as the first priority. Press the cooking zone to show the remaining time for the switch-off timer.
Cooking Vessels (Fig. 3)
For optimal performance with your induction hob:
- Use magnet-attracting vessels. Test by holding a magnet to the base; if it sticks, the vessel is suitable.
- Prefer vessels specifically declared as suitable for induction cooking.
- Use flat-bottomed and thick-bottomed vessels.
- A vessel with a diameter matching the cooking zone ensures maximum power exploitation.
- Smaller vessels reduce power exploitation but do not cause energy loss. However, vessels with diameters smaller than 10 cm are not recommended.
- Suitable materials include stainless-steel vessels with multi-layer or ferritic stainless-steel bottoms.
- Cast-iron vessels, preferably with an enamel bottom, are recommended to avoid scratching the pyroceram surface.
- Not recommended: Glass, ceramic, earthenware, aluminum, copper, or non-magnetic (austenitic) stainless-steel vessels.
Maintenance (Fig. 4)
To avoid damaging the hob surface:
- Immediately remove any aluminum foil bits, food spills, grease splashes, sugar marks, and other high-sugar content food from the surface using a scraper.
- Subsequently, clean the surface with a towel and an appropriate cleaning product. Rinse with water and dry with a clean cloth.
- Under no circumstances should sponges or abrasive cloths be used. Avoid using aggressive chemical detergents such as oven sprays and spot removers.
Installation
Installer's Instructions: These instructions are for qualified technicians and serve as a guide for installation, adjustment, and maintenance according to current laws and standards. Always disconnect the appliance from the electrical system before performing any operations.
Positioning (Fig. 5): The hob is designed for fitting into a worktop as shown in the figure. Apply the supplied sealing agent along the hob perimeter. Do not install the hob over an oven unless the oven is equipped with an appropriate cooling system, there is no warm-air leakage from the oven towards the hob, and suitable air-inlets are provided.
Electrical Connection (Fig. 6): Before carrying out the electrical connection, ensure that:
- The plant characteristics match those indicated on the rating plate at the bottom of the working area.
- The plant is fitted with an efficient earth connection, following current standards and law provisions. Earth connection is compulsory by law.
- If the equipment is not supplied with a cable and/or plug, use suitable absorption material for the working temperature, as indicated on the rating plate. The cable must not reach a temperature above 50°C of the ambient temperature.
