Read these operating instructions carefully before first use and keep them for future reference. If the device is given to someone else, these instructions must always accompany it. The manufacturer and importer accept no liability if the information in this manual is not complied with.

1. Description of the Device

1.1. Description and Operation

The QLT electric pruning shears are designed to cut branches and stems.

1.2. Intended Use

This device is intended for cutting branches and stems. It is for indoor personal use only and not for commercial applications. Any other use is considered improper. The device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised by an adult.

2. Safety

⚠️ WARNING: This device may not be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised by an adult. Always remove the battery when not in use or during cleaning and maintenance. Children must not play with the device. User maintenance should not be carried out by children unsupervised.

ℹ️ NOTICE: Repair of the tool must only be carried out by a qualified repair technician. Do not use steel wool, abrasive objects, or corrosive cleaning agents. Protect the device from heat, open flames, sub-zero temperatures, direct sunlight, and impacts. Do not cut branches beyond the specified diameter or hard items like metal/stone. Replace worn/damaged blades.

3. Usage

Read safety instructions in chapter 2 before using the device to prevent injury or damage.

3.1. Remove Packaging

Remove all packaging materials, foil, stickers, and transport securities. Check for damage and report to supplier immediately. Verify package contents: Electric pruning shears, Battery, Battery charger, Lubricant, Toolkit.

3.2. Charging the Battery

⚠️ WARNING: Disconnect the device from the battery for all charging operations.

  1. Press and hold the battery release button while sliding the battery from the shears.
  2. Insert the battery charger into the battery's charger connection.
  3. Insert the other end of the charger into a wall socket. The battery is now charging.
  4. Pull the other end of the battery charger from the battery.
  5. Pull the battery charger out of the wall socket when charged.
  6. Slide the battery back onto the electric pruning shears.

3.3. Before Every Use

⚠️ WARNING: Always keep your hands away from the blades.

Check blade tightening: A well-tightened blade should not move left to right. If correctly tightened, the pruning shears should close manually without force. A slight movement in the direction of blade closure is normal and caused by the gap between the rack and pinion teeth.

3.4. Switching On/Off

  1. Press the power button to switch on; the indicator light illuminates.
  2. Press the power button to switch off; the indicator light turns off.

3.5. Using the Device

⚠️ WARNING: When the device is running, always keep your hands away from the blades.

  1. Place a stem or branch between the blades.
  2. Press the trigger. The device cuts.

4. Cleaning and Maintenance

Read safety instructions in chapter 2 before cleaning and maintaining the device to prevent injury or damage.

⚠️ WARNING: Disconnect the device from the battery for all cleaning and maintenance operations.

4.1. Clean the Device

ℹ️ NOTICE: Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents. They may damage surfaces.

  1. Clean with a damp, soft cloth if necessary.
  2. Dry with a dry, soft cloth.
  3. Use a soft brush to clean dust off the blades.

4.2. Cleaning and Disinfecting the Cutting Head

The cutting head can be cleaned to remove residue (sap, etc.) and disinfected to prevent disease spread. Avoid corrosive products.

4.3. Blade Tightening

  1. Unlock and remove the small blade nut.
  2. Use the provided internal hexagonal wrench to adjust the large blade nut tension until the tool clicks.
  3. Lock the small blade nut and check tightness as per section 3.3.

4.4. Changing Blades

  1. Unscrew the two cover screws with a Phillips head tip.
  2. Remove the cover.
  3. Remove the small blade nut and elastomer washer with the other tool tip.
  4. Remove the large blade nut and resistance washer with the tool.
  5. Remove the blade.

ℹ️ NOTICE: Do not use chemicals. Clean around the pinion if necessary. Replace the blade. Fit the resistance washer and adjust the large blade nut tension until the tool clicks. Fit the elastomer washer on the small blade screw and tighten. Lubricate blade teeth with graphite grease if necessary. Fit the cover and screw the two cover screws.

5. Storage

Clean the device and accessories when storing for a long period. Store in a dry place, away from children and sunlight, protected from excessive dust and dirt.

6. Discard

Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of with household waste. Dispose of the product and any rechargeable battery separately according to relevant statutory regulations to contribute to environmental protection.
