3. ECU ReFLASH
⚠️ Caution
During the ECU data [ReFLASH] operation, DO NOT remove the Flash Editor from the vehicle's OBD connector until 'PLEASE IG OFF' is displayed on the operation screen.
Removing the device before 'PLEASE IG OFF' is displayed can damage the ECU and render the vehicle inoperable.
- Connect the Flash Editor to the vehicle's OBD connector. Turn the ignition ON and wait for at least 10 seconds (do not start the engine).
- From the MENU screen, select 'ECU ReFLASH', then choose 'Custom Data' or 'Normal Data', and finally select 'WRITE START'.
A diagram shows the screen progression:
- Screen 1: MENU with options ECU READ, ECU ReFLASH, CAR STATUS, EDITOR STATUS.
- Screen 2: ECU ReFLASH menu with NORMAL, PHASE 1, PHASE 2, Power Writer, CLEAR DTC.
- Screen 3: WRITE START screen.
- Screen 4: ECU WRITE progress indicator showing 65% completion, address, and PHASE 1 DATA.
- Screen 5: WRITE COMPLETED, PLEASE IG OFF, PHASE 1 DATA.
After the writing process begins, the screen will display 'PLEASE IG OFF' when the write is complete.
After completion, turn the ignition OFF and remove the Flash Editor from the vehicle.
⚠️ Caution
- After the reflashing process, remove the Flash Editor unit from the vehicle's OBD connector. Leaving it connected constantly can lead to battery drain.
- When purchased (initial state), 'Power Writer' cannot be selected for write data. 'Power Writer' becomes selectable by adding custom data at a Power Writer contracted store.
⚠️ Advice
When removing the OBD connector from the vehicle, pressing this part will release the lock, making it easier to pull out.
