Including the EVC200 Z-Wave Automatic Valve with a Z-Wave Controller
To include or add the EVC200 to a Z-Wave Controller:
- Place the Z-Wave controller in inclusion (learning) mode.
- Press the Stroke button 3 or more times rapidly (within 0.5 seconds).
- Once the controller acknowledges the inclusion, the EVC200 is added to the Z-Wave network.
- Exit inclusion mode; the EVC200 Automatic Valve should appear in your device list. Some controllers, like Vera, may require a reload or refresh to identify and configure the new device.
- After configuration, control the valve via your Z-Wave controller's interface. The valve supports Open/On and Closed/Off commands.
- The valve can also be toggled open or closed with a single push of the stroke button on the unit.
- Manual operation is possible by pushing the clutch pin.
Excluding or Removing the EVC200 from a Z-Wave Controller
- Place your Z-Wave controller in exclusion (un-learning) mode.
- Bring the EVC200 close to the Z-Wave controller (within a few feet).
- Press the Power button 3 or more times rapidly (within 0.5 seconds).
- Once the controller acknowledges the exclusion, the EVC200 is cleared of previous inclusions.
- It is recommended to keep the EVC200 within 1M/3ft of the controller during inclusion or removal.
If inclusion fails, try excluding the device first, then repeat the inclusion process.
Installation Guide
1. Attach HC2xx Mounting Bracket to valve collar
Position the HC2xx mounting bracket over the valve collar. Partially tighten bracket screws evenly. The bracket should stay in place but allow for rotation adjustments.
2. Attach Motor Assembly, Pins & Control Module
- Using the M6-Tab Screw, attach the motor assembly onto the bracket tab slot.
- Slide the motor assembly left/right over the mounting tab and position it with the pivot points centered and level. Tighten the M6 tab screw.
- Position the pins (x2) tightly against the valve handle. Secure in position.
- Plug the motor assembly connector (6 pin PS/2) into the Control Module. Plug in the DC Barrel Jack from the Control Module to the wall. Mount the Control Module to the wall.
- Plug the AC Adapter into AC power. Complete the test stroke and adjust the assembly as required.
Caution: Be sure PS/2 connector pins are aligned before pushing the connector into the Control Module.
EVC200 Z-Wave Plus Commands
Command | Description |
---|---|
Z-Wave Network inclusion | Put your controller into inclusion mode. Press the Power button 3+ times rapidly (within 1.5 seconds). Keep EVC200 within 1M/3ft of the controller. LED blinks once per second while waiting for commands. A rapid blink for 1 second signals an error after a 30-second timeout. |
Z-Wave Network exclusion | Press the Power button 3+ times rapidly (within 1.5 seconds). Keep EVC200 within 1M/3ft of the controller. LED blinks once per second while waiting for commands. A rapid blink for 1 second signals an error after a 30-second timeout. |
Device Reset | Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds. The device sends a reset notification and erases memory. The LED flashes to confirm a successful reset. Use only if the primary controller is inoperable. |
Association capabilities | Supports only the Lifeline Association Group (max 1 node ID) for Device Reset Locally messages. Cannot control other devices by association. The pushbutton opens and closes the connected water valve. |
