Introduction
The Danfoss Hansen Universal Quick Disconnect Blind-Mate (UQDB) has been designed in collaboration with the OCP (Open Compute Project) community to establish an industry standard for thermal management applications in data centers. This quick disconnect coupling is available in four different sizes (-02, -04, -06, -08) and adheres to OCP specification requirements. The Danfoss UQDB features a self-alignment capability, assisting connection in areas with limited access or visibility, and guarantees 100% helium-leak testing on every coupling.

Solutions for Liquid Cooling Challenges
Danfoss' direct-to-chip cooling solutions extend into server racks, providing efficient routing of flexible, kink-free hoses and leak-free, helium-tested couplings. Danfoss offers a comprehensive portfolio of premium fluid conveyance products to meet thermal management system needs.
The diagram illustrates an IT Chassis within a server rack, connected via interior server hoses to manifolds. The connection point is identified as a blind-mate QD coupling. The UQDB coupling is shown as a Plug and Socket component, designed for high flow rate and no spillage, making it ideal for in-rack applications where visibility and/or access are limited.

Flow Rate vs. Pressure Drop
The relationship between flow rate and pressure drop for Danfoss UQDB couplings is illustrated by performance curves. As the flow rate increases, the pressure drop across the coupling also increases. The Coefficient of Flow (Cv) values for each model are as follows: UQDB02 (Cv = 0.31), UQDB04 (Cv = 1.22), UQDB06 (Cv = 2.23), and UQDB08 (Cv = 3.75).
