Assembly and Installation

Before You Get Started

Spread cushioning flat to lay the TV on. This will help to prevent damage.

1. Stand Assembly

Attach the stands to the base of the TV. Insert two 18mm screws (BA4x18) for each stand and use a Phillips head screwdriver (not supplied) to tighten.

2. Remote Control Assembly

Open the battery compartment cover on the back side of the remote. Insert two 1.5V AAA size batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ / -) alignment with the diagram inside the compartment. Replace the battery compartment cover.

3. Connect to Antenna

Connect an antenna cable (not supplied) via the 'ANT' input port at the back of the TV. Ensure the antenna cable is also connected to a working antenna, either via an antenna wall socket in your home or directly.

4. Turning TV On

Plug the power cord into a suitable power outlet. Press the POWER [power-symbol] button on the remote control, aiming it at the sensor at the front of the TV. Alternatively, you can press the power button on the lower side of the back panel on the TV.

Turning TV Off

Press the POWER [power-symbol] button on the remote control to enter standby mode. To power down the TV completely, unplug the power cord from the power outlet. It is recommended to unplug the set from both the power outlet and aerial if the TV will not be used for a long time.

Initial Installation

The first time you switch the TV on, an initial setup screen will guide you through the process. Follow the on-screen text tips to complete the initial installation.

1.1 Language Select

Press the navigation buttons [arrow] on the remote control to select the language option, then click OK to confirm.

1.2 Quickly Set Up Your TV with Your Android Phone?

Continue/Skip:

  1. On your Android Phone, open the pre-installed "Google" app.
  2. Type or say, "Ok Google, set up my device".
  3. Tap the model name on the list.

1.3 Configure the Network

Select wired or wireless to connect to the internet. If you select skip, network configuration can be performed later from the homepage or settings menu.

1.4 Google Account Sign In

Sign in to get new apps, recommendations, movies, Google Assistant, and more. Two ways to log in:

  • Use your phone or computer: Visit androidtv.com/setup on your phone or computer. Ensure your device is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Android TV™.
  • Use your remote: Use the remote to enter your Google account and password to sign in.

1.5 Google Setting

In these steps, you will set up Terms of Service, Location, Help improve Android, Google Assistant, and additional Google functions.

1.6 Play Auto Installs

Select which recommended apps and Google apps to install or uninstall. Press "Continue" to proceed to the next setting page.

1.7 Pairing Bluetooth Remote

Press 'BACK' and 'VOL-' simultaneously on the remote control to enter Bluetooth pairing mode. The indicator light on the remote control will flash when in pairing mode. Press OK to begin pairing. Press [arrow] on the remote control to skip the pairing mode.

1.8 Country Select

Press the navigation buttons [arrow] on the remote control to select your country, then click OK to confirm.

1.9 Set the TV Password for Parental Controls

Set a password for parental controls. Note: "0000" is an invalid password.

1.10 Select TV Mode

Choose between 'Home' mode (optimized for energy usage) and 'Retail' mode (optimized for store demos with fixed settings).

1.11 Chromecast built-in™

Select On or Off to enable or disable Chromecast built-in functionality.

1.12 TV Channel Setting

Select Antenna, Cable, or Satellite to scan for TV channels. If you select skip, channel scanning can be performed later via the menu.

1.13 Setup Completed

Setup is now complete. Review any disclaimer terms presented.

Settings

2. Home Screen

After initial setup, the TV will enter the homepage by default. Alternatively, press the Home button [home-button] on the remote control to display the homepage. Use the navigation buttons [arrow] on the remote control to switch between Google Assistant, Apps, Play Next, Netflix, YouTube, and more on the Homepage. Press OK to enter.

  • Google Assistant: Use your voice to jump to shows, control devices, and more.
  • Apps: Lists downloaded and pre-loaded apps on your device.
  • Play Next: Based on your watch history, includes the next episode in a series or unfinished movies.
  • Settings: Manage apps and TV controls, change preferences, sound, and account settings.
  • Favorite apps: Quick access to frequently used apps.
  • Channels: For easy content discovery.

3. Settings Menu

Allows you to set various performance options for your TV. Press the navigation buttons [arrow] on the remote control to select "Settings" (usually in the upper right corner of the screen). Press the navigation buttons [arrow] on the remote control to select the option you want to adjust. Press OK to enter the selected menu.

3.1 Network & Internet

Adjust all network settings and check your connection if you encounter problems. Select "Network & internet" in the settings menu. Navigate through Wi-Fi, Add new network, Scanning always available, Proxy settings, and IP settings.

3.2 Channel

Select the "Channel" menu. Press OK to enter "Parental Controls", then use the navigation buttons [arrow] or number buttons on the remote control to enter your PIN (password for Parental Controls).

3.3 Device Preferences

Select "Device Preferences". Navigate through options such as About, Date & time, Timer, Language, Inputs, Picture, Sound, Google Assistant, Reset, etc. Press OK to jump to the corresponding sub-option.

3.3.1 About

Select "About". Use the navigation buttons [arrow] to check additional information such as System update, Device name, Restart, Status, and more. Press [BACK] [arrow] to return to the previous menu. Press [EXIT] [arrow] to exit the menu.

3.3.2 Reset

Selecting "Reset" will erase all data from your device's internal storage, including your Google account, system and app data and settings, and downloaded apps. Select "Reset", then choose "Cancel" or "Erase everything" using the navigation buttons [arrow].

App Install/Move/Uninstall

Press the navigation buttons [arrow] on the remote control to select "Apps" on the Homepage, then click OK to enter. Select "Get more apps" and input the app name. Select "Search" which is in the upper right corner of the page.

4.1 Install

Example: To install "Facebook". Input "Facebook", find the "Facebook" app in the list, then click OK to select it. Select "Install". When installation is complete, you can choose to open or uninstall the app.

4.2 Move

Select the app you wish to move (e.g., "Facebook"). Press and hold the OK button on the remote control, then use the navigation buttons [arrow] to select "Move". Use the navigation buttons [arrow] to move the app, then click OK to confirm the new position.

4.3 Uninstall

Select the app you wish to uninstall (e.g., "Facebook"). Press and hold the OK button on the remote control, then use the navigation buttons [arrow] to select "Uninstall". Press OK to uninstall the app.

TV Source Setting

To enter TV source settings from the Homepage:

  • Press the Home button [home-button] on the remote control or select "Live TV" on the Homepage.
  • Press the Source button [source-button] on the remote control.
  • Press the navigation buttons [arrow] on the remote control to select "Channels" and then select "New Channels Available" to enter the channel scan setup.

How to Turn Off Auto Sleep Function

To disable the auto-sleep function, follow this menu path:

Menu > Settings > Device Preferences > Power > Off

Navigate through the menu using the remote control buttons.

Basic Troubleshooting

Poor Picture and Sound Quality

  • Try a different channel.
  • Adjust the antenna.
  • Check all connections.

No Picture or Sound in TV Status

  • Try another channel.
  • Press the TV/AV button.
  • Make sure the TV is plugged in.
  • Check the antenna connection.

No Sound or Sound is Too Low at Maximum Volume

  • Check the volume settings on any external speakers connected to your television.
  • Adjust the TV volume accordingly.
  • Check another channel or input.
  • Ensure MUTE has not been turned on.

No Colour, Wrong Colour, or Tints

  • Make sure the program itself is broadcast in colour.
  • Select the Picture menu, then adjust the Colour and Tint submenus.

Picture Rolls Vertically

  • Check all connections.

Blurred or Snowy Picture, Distorted Sound

  • Check the direction, location, and connections to your antenna.
  • Issues may be caused by the use of an indoor antenna (poor signal).

Remote Control Malfunctions

  • Replace remote control batteries.
  • Check battery terminals.
  • Ensure the remote is within range; move closer to the TV.
  • Remove any obstructions between the remote and the IR sensor of the TV.
  • Make sure the power cord to your TV is plugged in and turned on.

"No Signal" on HDMI Source

  • Test the device with a different HDMI cable.
  • Plug the device into another HDMI port.
  • Try a different device connected to the same cable and port.
  • Perform a factory reset on your TV.
