Controller Layout
The 8BitDo Pro 2 Wired Controller for Xbox features a comprehensive layout designed for optimal gaming experience. The top view of the controller includes:
- White Status LED indicator light positioned above the face buttons.
- A circular D-pad on the left.
- A left analog stick located below the D-pad.
- Four face buttons arranged in a diamond pattern on the right: Y (top), X (left), B (right), and A (bottom).
- A view button (often a small circle) in the top-left area.
- A menu button (often a small circle) in the top-right area.
- A share button (often a small circle) in the bottom-center area.
- A star button (often a small circle) to the left of the share button.
- Two profile buttons labeled profile and profile LED to the right of the share button.
The top edge of the controller features shoulder buttons (RB on the right, LB on the left) and trigger buttons (RT on the right, LT on the left).
The underside of the controller has two assignable buttons labeled P1 and P2.
The bottom edge includes a 3.5mm audio jack and a microphone mute switch.
Connectivity
Xbox One / Xbox Series X / Xbox Series S Console
To connect the controller to your Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or Xbox Series S console, use the provided USB cable. The Status LED on the controller will illuminate when the connection is successfully established.
Windows 10
Connect the controller to your Windows device (PC, laptop) using its USB cable. The Status LED will turn on to indicate a successful connection.
Required system: Windows 10 or above. Devices running versions older than Windows 10 are not supported.
Button Swap
This feature allows you to remap buttons for a personalized control scheme.
- Press and hold any two buttons from the following set: A, B, X, Y, LB, RB, LSB (Left Stick Button), RSB (Right Stick Button).
- Press the star button. The profile LED will blink to confirm the successful swap.
- To cancel a button swap, press and hold the two previously swapped buttons, then press the star button again.
Button mappings created via this feature are not saved and will revert to their default configuration when the controller is turned off and restarted.

Volume Control
The controller offers integrated volume controls.
- In-Game Volume: Press and hold the profile button in combination with the D-pad's up or down directions to increase or decrease the main in-game volume, respectively.
- Voice Chat / Game Volume Balance: Press and hold the profile button in combination with the D-pad's left or right directions to adjust the balance between voice chat volume and game volume. Pressing left decreases voice chat volume while increasing game volume; pressing right increases voice chat volume while decreasing game volume.
Ultimate Software
The 8BitDo Ultimate Software provides advanced control over your controller. It allows you to customize button mapping, adjust analog stick and trigger sensitivities, and manage vibration feedback.

When a custom profile is enabled, the profile LED indicator will light up.
