Model 1177 Hookup Instructions

Connecting Your Digital Audio Sources

Connect any four sources' digital audio outputs to the Model 1177's coaxial (RCA) or optical (TosLink™) inputs. The Model 1177 features an "autoselect" function, which automatically chooses the source transmitting a digital audio signal. To utilize this feature effectively, connect your sources according to your desired priority.

Many source components transmit a carrier signal even when not actively playing. If a source, such as a DSS Tuner, is always on, other sources should be assigned a higher priority. Connect the source you wish to have the lowest priority to input position #4, and the source with the highest priority to position #1.

After connecting the sources, connect the Model 1177's output (coaxial or optical) to your digital receiver. Apply AC power to the Model 1177 and all connected components, then test the system.

To observe the automatic switching behavior, turn on one source at a time. If you prefer manual control over source selection, you can use the manual select button on the unit to switch between sources.
