1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing a Hama product. Please read these instructions and information completely. Keep them in a safe place for future reference. If you sell the device, pass these instructions on to the new owner.
Device Overview
The device consists of two main parts:
- Main Sensor Unit: Features a Status LED and a Reset button.
- Sensor Probe: Connected via a cable, designed to detect water.

3. Safety Instructions
This product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
- Protect the product from dirt, moisture, and overheating; use only in dry environments.
- If operated outdoors, use only in protected outdoor areas.
- Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. All service work must be done by qualified experts.
- Do not operate if visibly damaged.
- Keep out of reach of children, like all electrical products.
- Use only for the intended purpose.
- Do not use near heaters, heat sources, or in direct sunlight.
- Do not use in areas where electronic products are prohibited.
- Do not drop or expose to major shocks.
- Do not modify the product; this voids the warranty.
- Keep packaging material away from children due to suffocation risk. Dispose of packaging according to local regulations.
- Do not operate outside specified power limits.
- Do not open or operate if damaged.
- Use only under moderate climatic conditions.
- Before mounting, ensure the wall is suitable for the weight and free of electrical, water, or gas lines.
Warning - Batteries
- Note correct polarity (+ and -) when inserting batteries to prevent leakage or explosion.
- Use only specified battery types (or rechargeable batteries).
- Clean battery contacts before insertion.
- Do not let children change batteries unsupervised.
- Do not mix old/new or different types/manufacturers of batteries.
- Remove batteries from products not in use for extended periods (unless for emergency).
- Do not short-circuit, charge, or burn batteries.
- Keep batteries out of reach of children.
- Never open, damage, swallow, or release batteries into the environment; they contain toxic heavy metals.
- Remove and dispose of spent batteries promptly.
- Avoid storage, charging, and use in extreme temperatures or low atmospheric pressure (e.g., high altitudes).
Warning - Danger of hearing damage from alarm sound
- Loud volumes can damage hearing, even over short periods.
- The high sound pressure of the alarm signal can cause temporary hearing damage.
- Do not remain within 3 minutes of the alarm signal emitter during an alarm or test.
4. Installing the Hama Smart Home App
To use all device functions, you need a smartphone/tablet and the Hama Smart Home app.
Supported Operating Systems:
- iOS 16.3 or later
- Android 6.0 or later
Installation Steps:
- Download the Hama Smart Home app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
- Follow the on-screen instructions on your smartphone/tablet to install the app.
- Open the app.
App Setup Notes:
- During setup, grant the app necessary permissions for full functionality.
- Register for a new account or log in with existing credentials.
- Follow app instructions to add a new device.

5. Product Properties & Commissioning
To commission the device:
- Insert the 2 included AAA batteries correctly into the battery compartment.
- Put the device into Pairing mode by holding the Reset button down for approximately 15 seconds. The LED will start to flash quickly.
6. Installation
You can secure the smart water sensor using the enclosed adhesive pad.
Warning - Adhesive Mounting
- Ensure the mounting surface is free from dust and grease. Use a suitable cleaner.
- The adhesive pads are intended for permanent attachment. Carefully peel the pad off the mounting surface to remove it.
- Environmental influences (moisture, sunlight, cold, etc.) can impair the long-term adhesion.
- Residue on the mounting surface after removal cannot be ruled out.
7. Integrating Devices into the Hama Smart Home App
Pairing the Central Control Unit
To pair the sensor with the Hama Smart Home App, you must first integrate a central control unit (e.g., 00176662, 00176637) into the app. Follow the hub's operating instructions.
Connecting the Sensor:
- Select your central control unit from the list of found devices in the app.
- The following screen appears: [App screen showing 'Zentrale' (Central Unit) with 'Online-Geräte: 0' and an option to add a device.]
- Press "Add secondary device" (or similar wording like "Untergerät hinzufügen").
- Confirm with "LED is already flashing" (or "LED blinkt bereits").
- In the "Find device" screen, the app will display devices found by the central unit.
- The search takes approximately 15 seconds; it may take up to 2 minutes with poor connection or long distance.
- Press "Done" (or "Fertigstellung") once devices are found.

8. Setting Options
The following settings can be configured in the app:
- 1 Device status: View the current status of the water sensor.
- 2 Status history: Review past events, such as normal status or flooding alarms, with timestamps.
- 3 Automation Management: Configure automated actions and scenarios.
- 4 Notification settings: Customize how and when you receive alerts.

11. Care and Maintenance
Note: Disconnect the device from power before cleaning and during prolonged periods of non-use.
- Clean this product only with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning products.
- Ensure that no water can enter the product.
