Assembly Diagram Overview
This diagram shows the main towbar assembly. The central crossmember (A), a robust metal bar, is designed to attach to the vehicle's rear chassis. It connects to two handed side arms (B), which are shaped to fit the specific contours of the Range Rover L405 chassis. The detachable neck (C), which holds the tow ball, is also shown. The assembly uses various fasteners: M10 x 40 bolts (E) with lock washers (D) and S/P washers are used in conjunction with nuts to secure components. M12 x 40 thread rolling bolts (F) are used for direct attachment to untapped holes on the chassis. M12 x 40 bolts (G) with Nyloc nuts and S/P washers (K) provide secure fastening for the side arms. M12 x 25 bolts (H) are used with washers (K) and lock washers (D) for attaching the detachable neck assembly. Flat washers (J and K) are used to distribute load and prevent damage to surfaces.
Detailed Fastener Diagram
This diagram provides a detailed view of the fastening points. It illustrates how the side arms (B) are mounted to the crossmember (A) and the vehicle chassis. Specific fasteners like M12 bolts (G) with Nyloc nuts and washers (K) are shown connecting the side arms to the chassis. The detachable neck (C) and socket plate (L) are shown attached to the crossmember (A) using M12 bolts (H), washers (K), and lock washers (D). The diagram emphasizes the correct placement and type of bolts and washers for each connection point, ensuring a secure and rigid towbar installation.
