Installation Steps
- Hold the UTV Stereo Battery Isolator in position. Use a marker to make two points for mounting holes. Drill these points to the specified diameter. Insert two clip-on barrel nuts into the drilled holes. Use the provided bolts to attach the isolator to the plastic mounting surface, securing it with the installed barrel nuts.
- Connect the ring terminal end of the Red/Black Trigger Harness to the battery isolator.
- Remove the vehicle's center floorboard cover panel. Route the Trigger Wire along the center of the vehicle towards the dashboard. Locate the original equipment manufacturer's (OEM) white Accessory (ACC) plug, which is situated directly behind the 4x4 switch. Connect the white pigtail of the Trigger Harness to this OEM white ACC plug.
- Secure the harness using zip ties, ensuring it is kept away from any heat sources or moving vehicle parts.
- Position the battery mount correctly inside the rear fender area on the driver's side. Use a marker to indicate three locations for mounting holes.
- Drill the rear vertical hole to the required diameter to accommodate a nut and bolt.
- Insert a bolt through the battery mount and secure it to the vehicle's frame using a nut on the backside.
- Install the UTV Stereo Battery (UTVS1200) and secure it using the provided battery strap. Attach the strap to the mount by screwing the supplied bolts into the pre-installed nutserts on the mount.
- Identify the Dual 4AWG battery cable. Connect the black ground wire of this cable to the ground terminal on the OEM battery.
- Connect the red power wire of the Dual 4AWG cable to one of the larger terminals on the Battery Isolator. The terminal choice does not matter.
- Use the single red 4AWG wire to connect the remaining large terminal on the Battery Isolator to the positive (+) post of the OEM battery.
- Utilize the provided loom clamps and medium threaded screws to fasten the 4AWG battery cable to the original equipment manufacturer's (OEM) insert tabs located on the rear plastic wall in the motor compartment area.
- Connect the 4AWG battery cable to the UTVS1200 Battery.
- Reconnect the ground post on the OEM battery. Turn the ignition (IGN) to the 'ON' position, then back to 'OFF'. Listen for the battery isolator to click, confirming proper operation. If no click is heard, verify the OEM factory Accessory (ACC) fuse. After successful installation, aftermarket accessories can be connected directly to the UTVS1200 battery or to the main power side of the isolator (which is fused) to draw power exclusively from the second battery. For optimal performance and longevity, always use a battery charger when the vehicle is in storage.
