UTV Stereo RGB Bluetooth Controller Kit Installation Guide
Product Overview
This document provides instructions for installing the UTV Stereo RGB Bluetooth Controller Kit (Part #: UTVS-RGB-BTKIT). This kit allows for wireless control of RGB lighting systems on UTVs.
Kit Components
The kit includes the following main components:
- Ground Wire: With a ring terminal.
- Constant Power Wire: With a ring terminal.
- Accessory Wire: With a ring terminal.
- Universal Bus Bar Adapter Harness: Connects to the accessory wires.
- Polaris® Pulse Bar Connector: For direct connection to Polaris Pulse systems.
- Bluetooth Controller Module: The central control unit, featuring the UTV Stereo logo and model number UTVS-RGB-BT.
- Low Current Harness: Connects the controller to the switch and power.
- 10 AMP Fuse: For power protection.
- Controller Harness Connector: Connects the controller module to the main harness.
- RGB Output Connectors: For connecting RGB LED strips or accessories.
- Dual Blue LED Rocker Switch: Features the UTV Stereo logo and 'SPEAKER LIGHTS' indicator.
Included Optional Wiring Accessories
The kit also comes with optional accessories for expanding lighting capabilities:
- 4x RGB Splitters: To connect multiple RGB accessories to a single output.
- 8x RGB Pigtails: Individual connectors for RGB accessories.
- 1x Alternative Power Harness: For connecting directly to a power source without a bus bar.
Installation Steps
- Step 1: Mount the dual blue LED rocker switch to your desired location in the UTV.
- Step 2: Connect the Bluetooth® harness to the low current harness. Mount the Bluetooth controller module to the vehicle using the included 3M adhesive pad.
- Step 3: To connect RGB accessories:
- If using a UTV Stereo plug-and-play harness (sold separately), connect one of the RGB output connectors from the controller's harness to the RGB input connector of the UTV Stereo system harness.
- For all other installations, use the included optional wiring accessories (RGB Splitters or RGB Pigtails) to connect one or more RGB LEDs to the controller's RGB output connectors.
- Step 4: Route the main harness to your Polaris Pulse Bar or factory bus bar.
- For Polaris Pulse Bar Installation: Route the Polaris Pulse plug from the switch and connect it directly to the Pulse bar.
- For Universal Install: Route the bus bar wires using the universal adapter harness from the switch to the factory bus bar.
Power Configuration Options
Option 1: Constant Power (Bluetooth controller works anytime, regardless of key position)
- Red Ring Terminal: Connects to a constant power post (fused by 10 amp).
- Yellow Ring Terminal: Connects to an ACC (Accessory) post, used to light up the lower LED on the switch.
- Black Ring Terminal: Connects to a ground post.
Option 2: ACC Power (Bluetooth controller works only when the vehicle key is on)
- Red Ring Terminal: Connects to an ACC (Accessory) Post - Accessory Power (fused by 10 amp).
- Yellow Ring Terminal: Connects to an ACC (Accessory) Post - Acc Power used to light up the lower LED on the switch.
- Black Ring Terminal: Connects to a ground post.
Important Note
If you have a UTV Stereo 2nd Battery Kit installed in your vehicle, ensure your power source is properly connected to the accessory battery.
