Getting Started
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up your Cudy 4G LTE router.
Step 1: Prepare Your Router
Install any detachable antennas on the router.
Insert your Nano SIM card into the SIM slot until you hear a clicking sound. Ensure the SIM card is correctly oriented.
Step 2: Connect Power
Connect the power adapter to the router and plug it into a power outlet. Wait for the system LED to turn solid, indicating the router is powered on.
Step 3: Check Network Connection Status
The system LED indicates the cellular network connection status:
- Solid Blue/Purple: Router is connected to the cellular network.
- Solid Red: Router is not connected to the cellular network. Continue to configure the router.
Step 4: Connect to the Router
Method A: Via Wi-Fi
On your device (computer, smartphone, tablet), find the Wi-Fi network named (SSID) and enter the Password printed on the bottom of the router.
Method B: Via Ethernet Cable
Turn off the Wi-Fi on your device. Connect your device to one of the router's LAN ports using an Ethernet cable.
Router Configuration
Step 5: Configure Your Router
Open a web browser on your connected device. Enter the router's default IP address or gateway (e.g., http://cudy.net/) in the address bar.
Follow the on-screen setup wizard. This typically involves:
- Login: Enter the admin username and password (default credentials are often found on the router's label).
- PIN Entry: If your SIM card is locked, you will be prompted to enter the PIN code. You have a limited number of attempts. Contact your mobile carrier for assistance if needed.
- Quick Setup: Configure essential settings such as Timezone, Cellular (APN Profile), and Wireless (2.4G SSID, 5G SSID, Password).
- Save & Apply: Confirm your settings.
Once configured, you can enjoy your internet connection.
LED Indicator Status Summary
LED | Status | Description |
---|---|---|
Power | Off | No power connected. |
Power | Solid | Router is powered on. |
System | Flashing Red | Searching for or attempting to connect to the cellular network. |
System | Solid Red | Cellular network connection failed or is not configured. |
System | Solid Blue/Purple | Successfully connected to the cellular network. |
System | Red, Purple, and Blue Alternate | System is booting up. |
Wi-Fi | Off | Wi-Fi is disabled. |
Wi-Fi | Solid | Wi-Fi is enabled and broadcasting. |
LAN | Off | No device connected to the LAN port. |
LAN | Solid | A device is connected to the LAN port. |
LAN | Flashing | Data activity on the LAN port. |
