Product Overview

This document provides instructions for the 8BitDo N30 Pro 2 Bluetooth gamepad.

Gamepad Layout

The gamepad features a D-pad, analog sticks (not included in turbo function description), L1, L2, R1, R2 buttons, a start button, a select button, A, B, X, Y buttons, and L3/R3 buttons.

Power On/Off:

• Power On: Press the [start] button.
• Power Off: Press and hold the [start] button for 3 seconds.
• Force Power Off: Press and hold the [start] button for 8 seconds.

Pairing:

• Press and hold the [pair] button for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode. The blue LEDs will rapidly blink.

Connectivity and Setup

Nintendo Switch

1. Press and hold [Y + start] to turn on the controller. LEDs will blink four times per cycle.
2. Enter pairing mode by holding [pair] for 2 seconds.
3. On your Switch, go to Controllers > Change Grip/Order. LEDs will enter a breathing mode upon successful connection.
4. The controller will auto-reconnect to your Switch by pressing [start] after initial pairing.
5. Button Mapping: Star button functions as the Switch Screenshot button; Home button functions as the Switch HOME button.

Android (D-input)

1. Press and hold [B + start] to turn on the controller. Blue LEDs will blink once per cycle.
2. Enter pairing mode by holding [pair] for 2 seconds.
3. On your Android device, go to Bluetooth settings, search for [8BitDo N30 Pro 2], and connect. LEDs will enter a breathing mode upon successful connection.
4. The controller will auto-reconnect to your Android device by pressing [start] after initial pairing.
5. USB Connection: Connect the controller to your Android device via USB cable after powering on the controller.

Windows (X-input)

1. Press and hold [X + start] to turn on the controller. LEDs will blink twice per cycle.
2. Enter pairing mode by holding [pair] for 2 seconds.
3. On your Windows device, go to Bluetooth settings, search for [8BitDo N30 Pro 2], and connect. LEDs will enter a breathing mode upon successful connection.
4. The controller will auto-reconnect to your Windows device by pressing [start] after initial pairing.
5. USB Connection: Connect the controller to your Windows device via USB cable after powering on the controller.

macOS

1. Press and hold [A + start] to turn on the controller. LEDs will blink three times per cycle.
2. Enter pairing mode by holding [pair] for 2 seconds.
3. On your macOS device, go to Bluetooth settings, search for [Wireless Controller], and connect. LEDs will enter a breathing mode upon successful connection.
4. The controller will auto-reconnect to your macOS device by pressing [start] after initial pairing.
5. USB Connection: Connect the controller to your macOS device via USB cable after powering on the controller.

Turbo Function

To activate or deactivate the turbo function for a button: hold the desired button and then press the [star] button.

Note: Analog sticks and the D-pad do not support the turbo function. This feature is not available when connected to Switch.

Battery and Power Saving

Battery Status

The gamepad has a built-in 480 mAh Li-on battery providing approximately 18 hours of playtime. It can be recharged via USB cable in 1-2 hours.

Power Saving

• The controller will power off automatically after 1 minute of no Bluetooth connection.
• The controller will power off after 15 minutes of inactivity with a Bluetooth connection.
• The controller remains on and connected when using a wired USB connection.
