Disposal Information

The symbol of the crossed-out garbage can indicates that the product or removable batteries must not be disposed of with household or commercial waste. Within the EU, you are legally obliged to dispose of the product separately and appropriately according to the national laws of your country. Alternatively, contact your supplier or Thermokon Sensortechnik GmbH. Further information can be found at: www.thermokon.de

User Notes for Humidity Sensor

Under normal environmental conditions, we recommend a recalibration interval of 1 year to check the accuracy required in the application. The following environmental conditions can damage the sensor element and lead to a loss of specified accuracy in the long term:

? Touching the sensor elements is to be avoided!

Recalibration or possible sensor replacement does not fall under the general warranty.

Information on Room Air Quality CO2

DIN EN 13779 defines different classes for room air quality:

Category CO2 Content Above Outdoor Air Content in ppm Description
Usual Range Standard Value
IDA1 <400 ppm 350 ppm - High air quality
IDA2 400.. 600 ppm 500 ppm - Medium room air quality
IDA3 600..1,000 ppm 800 ppm - Moderate room air quality
IDA4 >1,000 ppm 1,200 ppm - Low room air quality

Information on CO2 Self-Calibration

All gas sensors are subject to drift. The degree of drift depends on the components used and the construction. Furthermore, the following environmental conditions, among others, can accelerate/promote the aging and wear of the sensors:

Internal self-calibration with two-channel technology compensates for the drift caused. Thermokon sensors are suitable for continuous use (e.g., hospitals).

USE-Housing with UV and Weather Protection

Plastic housings for outdoor use can lose their color and quality over time. Therefore, all USE housings are made of special white polycarbonate (PC). The most light-stable dyes and additives are used to ensure optimal protection of the polymer while maintaining color stability. The titanium dioxide used has been specially developed for polycarbonate and offers excellent UV protection by reflecting the entire light spectrum, including the UV portion at 340 nm. This effectively counteracts the otherwise occurring photochemical polymer degradation. The colors remain vibrant for a long time without fading.

Mounting Instructions

When mounting outdoors, avoid direct rain and sunlight. Use sun or rain protection if necessary. Cable entry from below or the side. For side cable entry, create a loop so that precipitation can drip off in a defined manner. When in use, the permissible ambient conditions must be taken into account.

Battery Installation

The LA+ BAT LRW is powered by 1 or 2 AA batteries. Using 2 batteries increases battery life. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment correctly as shown. (included in delivery)

When using a single battery, please use battery compartment 1.

Notes on Commissioning

ℹ️ The necessary LoRaWAN credentials for commissioning can be read out via the uConfig software or the LRWapp. Upon request, the LoRaWAN credentials can also be provided in digital form. Please contact your respective contact person for this.

Information on LoRaWAN Interface Description

The Thermokon LoRaWAN interface description can be downloaded from our website.

Configuration

Configuration is carried out while the device is powered. The following options are available for device configuration:

[Diagram showing configuration options: Micro-USB, Bluetooth, LoRaWAN Downlink, with associated software/apps]

The configuration app and its instructions can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

Notes on Bluetooth Configuration

ℹ️ Press the button to start Bluetooth communication. After pressing the button, a connection can be established via the app within approx. 20 seconds. This is indicated by a flashing LED.

User Notes

Over time, dust and dirt particles accumulate on the filter. These impair the function of the sensor. Under normal environmental conditions, we recommend a maintenance interval of one year to maintain the specified accuracy. After successful disassembly, the filter can be cleaned by blowing it out with oil-free compressed air, nitrogen, or with distilled water. Severely soiled filters should be replaced.
