Assembly Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Mounting Plate
Loosely thread screws (AA) and hex nuts (DD) onto the round mounting plate (CC) as shown. Adjust screw length according to the fixture canopy depth.
Attach this assembly to the outlet box using mounting screws (not provided). Tighten securely.
Lift the fixture and pass screws (AA) through the two mounting holes in the fixture canopy. While holding the fixture, thread screws (AA) in or out of the round mounting plate (CC) until 3/16" [5mm] of threads are showing. This length is for mounting the fixture.
Diagram Description: Shows screws (AA) and nuts (DD) on mounting plate (CC). Another diagram shows the assembly attached to an outlet box. A third diagram illustrates adjusting screw (AA) length, showing an "INCORRECT" state with too much thread exposed and a "CORRECT" state with 3/16" [5mm] thread showing. Text indicates "Thread both screws up & down for adjustment".
Step 2: Attach Fixture Canopy
Slip fixture (A) wires through canopy (G). Thread canopy (G) down onto fixture (A).
Diagram Description: Shows fixture (A) wires passing through canopy (G), which is then threaded down onto the fixture.
Step 3: Install Lamps
Thread the lamps (not included) into the fixture sockets. Use 40-watt MAX incandescent medium base lamp, SBCFL or SBLED.
Diagram Description: Shows lamps being screwed into the fixture sockets.
Step 4: Electrical Connections
Strip 3/8" of insulation from electrical wire ends.
Using wire nuts (BB):
- Connect RIBBED fixture wire to the WHITE supply wire from the outlet box.
- Connect the SMOOTH fixture wire to the BLACK supply wire.
- Connect the fixture ground wire and supply ground wire using a wire nut or by fastening to the ground screw on the round mounting plate.
Push all wire connections into the outlet box.
Diagram Description: Shows wire connections: ribbed fixture wire to white supply, smooth fixture wire to black supply, and ground wires connected. It illustrates wire nuts (BB) and the ground screw.
Step 5: Secure Canopy
Secure the canopy (G) to screws (AA) using the two cylinder nuts (EE) to secure tightly.
Diagram Description: Shows canopy (G) being secured to screws (AA) with cylinder nuts (EE).
Step 6: Attach Shades and Finial (Ceiling Mount)
Line up the hole in the steel shade (B) and steel bracket (E) with the studs and secure in place with cylinder nuts (EE).
Attach the steel shade (C) to the steel bracket (E) nipple, and using the finial (F) secure it tightly to the fixture.
Diagram Description: Shows steel shade (B) and bracket (E) being attached to studs with nuts (EE). Then, steel shade (C) is attached to bracket (E) with finial (F).
Step 7: Prepare for Hanging Mount
Remove existing canopy parts and canopy (G) from fixture (A).
Install canopy (G) parts and 90° swivel (H) into canopy (G), secure tightly.
Diagram Description: Shows canopy parts being removed from fixture (A), then canopy (G) and swivel (H) being installed into canopy (G).
Step 8: Determine Hanging Length and Wire Through Stems
NOTE: Determine the hanging length of your fixture by adding or removing stems (pipes FF, GG, HH). The electrical and ground wire may also optionally be cut to length.
Do NOT cut electrical or ground wires until this length is determined. Leave AT LEAST 6 inches MINIMUM of wire past the canopy (G) 90° swivel (H) to allow for easy connections.
Once hanging length is determined, pass wires through pipe (FF), nipple (HH), and pipe (GG), tightening the stem assembly to fixture (A) as you go to avoid twisting the wires. Pass wires through canopy (G). Tighten the 90° swivel of canopy (G) to the stem assembly.
Diagram Description: Shows wires being passed through pipes (FF, HH, GG) and the stem assembly. It also shows wires passing through canopy (G) and the swivel (H) being tightened.
Step 9: Electrical Connections (Hanging Mount)
Strip 3/8" of insulation from electrical wire ends.
Using wire nuts (BB):
- Connect RIBBED fixture wire to the WHITE supply wire from the outlet box.
- Connect the SMOOTH fixture wire to the BLACK supply wire.
- Connect the fixture ground wire and supply ground wire using a wire nut or by fastening to the ground screw on the round mounting plate.
Push all wire connections into the outlet box.
Diagram Description: Similar to Step 4, showing wire connections using wire nuts (BB) and the ground screw.
Step 10: Secure Canopy
Secure the canopy (G) to screws (AA) using the two cylinder nuts (EE) to secure tightly.
Diagram Description: Shows canopy (G) being secured to screws (AA) with cylinder nuts (EE).
