Installation Steps

  1. Step 1: Power Off

    Locate the circuit breaker or fuse box controlling power to the light fixture's location. Switch the breaker to the OFF position or remove the fuse. Verify power is off by testing the existing fixture or switch.

  2. Step 2: Prepare Mounting Bracket

    Remove the old fixture if present. Attach the new mounting bracket to the electrical box in the ceiling using the provided screws. Ensure the bracket is securely fastened.

  3. Step 3: Wire Connections

    Identify the wires from the ceiling electrical box (typically black for hot/live, white for neutral, and bare copper or green for ground). Connect the corresponding wires from the fixture to the ceiling wires using the provided wire connectors (wire nuts):

    • Connect the fixture's black wire to the ceiling's black wire.
    • Connect the fixture's white wire to the ceiling's white wire.
    • Connect the fixture's green or bare copper wire to the ceiling's ground wire.

    Tuck all wires neatly into the electrical box.

  4. Step 4: Mount the Fixture Canopy

    Carefully lift the fixture's ceiling canopy up to the ceiling, aligning it with the mounting bracket. Secure the canopy to the mounting bracket using the provided hex nuts or screws. Ensure the canopy is flush against the ceiling.

  5. Step 5: Install Light Bulbs

    Insert the appropriate type and wattage light bulbs into the sockets. Refer to the fixture's label for maximum wattage recommendations.

  6. Step 6: Restore Power and Test

    Turn the power back ON at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Test the light fixture by operating the wall switch.

Care and Maintenance

To clean your Progress Lighting fixture, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or chemicals, as they may damage the finish.
