Setup and Preparation

Remote Control Battery Installation

1. Unscrew and remove the battery cover from the back of the controller.

2. Install 3 fresh "AAA" alkaline batteries into the controller as shown in Diagram A. Replace the battery cover and secure it.

3. Turn over the controller and press the power button. If the power indicator turns on, batteries are installed correctly.

Charging the ASC-2080 Li-Poly Battery

1. Connect the USB charger to the battery charging socket (see Diagram B).

2. Connect the USB end of the cable to your computer's USB port or a USB wall charger (see Diagram C).

3. The indicator light on the USB charger will turn solid red while charging. It turns off when charging is complete.

4. Average charging time is approximately 60-80 minutes (using a 5.0V 2A USB wall charger).

IMPORTANT: ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR CHARGING CORD WHEN NOT IN USE!

Installing the ASC-2080 Battery

Carefully push the fully charged battery into the ASC-2080 battery compartment until it stops and is flush with the back of the drone (see Diagram D). The battery only fits one way; do not force it.

Expanding and Folding Your ASC-2080 Arms

Before flying, expand the foldable arms.

1. Ensure the drone power is turned off.

2. Hold the folded drone (see Diagram E) and unfold the arms, starting with the Rear Arms (Lower Arms) then the Front Arms (Upper Arms).

3. Ensure arms are fully extended and locked into place (see Diagram F). You will feel additional pressure indicating a proper lock.

4. To fold, reverse steps 1-3.

NOTE: Never use excessive force when opening or closing the arms.

Flight Preparation

  • Verify 3 "AAA" batteries in the remote and the ASC-2080 battery is fully charged.
  • Be in a large open space, preferably a field or park with at least 200 feet radius.
  • Start the drone on a clean, flat, level surface before take-off.
  • IMPORTANT: As a beginner, avoid flying in windy conditions. Pick a day with zero or very light wind.

Syncing Your ASC-2080

Important: Always sync on a flat, level surface with digital trim settings centered.

  1. Ensure the controller power is OFF and the ASC-2080 battery is removed.
  2. Insert the ASC-2080 battery, place it on a flat surface, and press and hold the power button for a few seconds (see Diagram F). The drone's LED lights will flash.
  3. Quickly turn ON the remote controller. The top red LED light on the controller will flash.
  4. Push the throttle stick all the way up until it stops, then pull it all the way down to the bottom (see Diagram F). You should hear a high-pitched beep each way.
  5. If the indicator lights on the drone and controller stop flashing and become solid, you have successfully synced. Repeat steps 1-4 if syncing fails.

TIP 1: Sync quickly after turning on the drone to avoid a timeout.

TIP 2: Syncing indoors or in shade helps visibility of LED indicators.

Flying Your Drone

Once synced, you are ready to fly. Familiarize yourself with starting/stopping rotors, auto-land, and control features. Practice in a large, open area on a day with minimal wind. Do not fly too high until experienced.

Recognizing the Front & Rear of the ASC-2080

The front of the ASC-2080 is the side with the camera. The rear is the side with the red light (see Diagram G).

Automatically Take Off / Land

Ensure the ASC-2080 is synced.

  • Press the Auto Start/Land button; the drone will take off automatically (see Diagram H1).
  • Press the Auto Start/Land button again to land the drone automatically (see Diagram H1).

Tips: You can also start rotors by moving both control sticks simultaneously down inside or outside corners, then push the throttle stick slowly to take off manually (see Diagram H2).

Speed Select Button

The ASC-2080 has 4 speed settings: T (Training), 1 (SLOW), 2 (MEDIUM), and 3 (HIGH). The default is 1 (SLOW). Press the speed setting button to increase speed; beeps indicate the current setting.

T (Training) Mode & Obstacle Avoidance Training Feature

Press and hold the Speed Button for 2 seconds to enter T Mode (indicated by a long beep). T Mode operates at a very slow speed with maximum and minimum height limits. The obstacle avoidance feature works only in T Mode, causing the drone to automatically circumvent obstructions.

Flight Control

Master basic flight functions in a large, open space with the drone facing away from you. Practice makes perfect!

  • Ascend/Descend: Move the left throttle stick up to ascend, down to descend (see Diagram I).
  • Rotate: Move the left throttle stick left to rotate counter-clockwise, right to rotate clockwise (see Diagram J).
  • Forward/Backward: Move the right direction control stick forward to move forward, backward to move backward (see Diagram K).
  • Banking: Move the right direction control stick left to bank left, right to bank right (see Diagram L).

Flight Practice

Practice basic exercises like vertical takeoffs, landings, and turns. Progress to square and cross pattern maneuvers.

Adjusting the Trim

The ASC-2080 is pre-trimmed and calibrated. Trim adjustments may be needed after crashes.

  • Forward/Backward Trim: Use forward/backward trim buttons to counter drifting (see Diagram M).
  • Banking Left/Right Trim: Use left/right trim buttons to counter drifting (see Diagram N).

NOTE: A single long beep indicates the center trim. No sound means maximum trim on that side.

Calibrating the ASC-2080

Recalibration may be needed if the drone drifts or hovers unstably after crashes.

  1. Place the ASC-2080 on a flat, level surface.
  2. Ensure the drone is powered on and synced to the controller (refer to Syncing). Do not start the blades.
  3. Move both the throttle and control sticks down and to the right corner (see Diagram R).
  4. The drone's lights will rapidly flash and then stop, indicating calibration is complete.

TROUBLESHOOTING: If lights don't flash, remove the drone battery, turn off the controller, and restart. Ensure the battery is inserted before turning on the controller. Push the left throttle stick up and down to re-sync if needed.

About 360° Stunt Flips

Execute 360° stunts once confident in control. Remove blade guards for best performance. Operate in a large, open area. Stunts consume battery power, reducing flight time. When battery is low, flip mode is disabled.

Steps to Executing a Stunt Flip

  1. Hover the ASC-2080 with at least 5 feet of clearance. Set speed to Mode 2 or 3 (T Mode and Speed 1 do not support flips).
  2. Press the 360 stunt button (Diagram S) to enter "stunt roll mode" (indicated by rapid beeping).
  3. Use the right control stick: push right for a "right side roll" or left for a "left side roll" (see Diagram T). Use caution.

NOTE: To exit stunt roll mode without flipping, press the stunt button again.

Recording Videos and Taking Photos

The ASC-2080 has an onboard HD camera for video and still photos. You can record simultaneously to a mobile device (via app) and a microSD card (highest definition).

What You Will Need to Record on a microSD Card

  • One microSD card reader (included).
  • One microSD card (not included).
  • A computer with a USB port and media player software.

Formatting Your microSD Card

1. Insert the microSD card into the USB SD card reader and plug it into your computer (see Diagrams U1 and U2).

2. Right-click the card's icon on your Desktop and follow instructions to format.

Installing the microSD Card in Your ASC-2080 Drone

1. Insert the formatted microSD card into the ASC-2080 SD card port (see Diagram U3). Push gently until it clicks.

2. Turn on the ASC-2080 and ensure it is charged and synced.

Taking Digital Photos

Short press the CAMERA button on the controller. A "beep" and a single flash of the drone's red and white LEDs indicate a photo has been taken.

Recording Videos

Long press the CAMERA button for 2-3 seconds. Two "beeps" and rapid flashing of the drone's LEDs indicate video recording has started. Press the button again to stop recording.

Installing Your Phone Holder

Attach the phone holder to the back of the controller by clicking the top two teeth into the top holes, then the bottom (see Diagram U4). Pull from the bottom to remove.

Removing Your microSD Card

Push in gently on the back of the SD card until it clicks and pops out slightly. Remove by pulling gently.

Downloading and Clearing Space on Your microSD Card

Plug the microSD card into the reader and connect to your computer. Download all content to your computer. After downloading, delete files from the microSD card using your computer's instructions.

Camera Video and Photo Streaming Setup

The ASC-2080 streams video and photos to your mobile device.

What You Will Need to Get Started

  • One Apple or Android smartphone (not included).
  • The ASC-2080 App downloaded and installed.
  • Scan the QR codes or manually enter the web addresses to download the app from the Android Play Store or Apple Store.
  • Follow the "TUTORIAL" within the app for connecting/pairing the drone and using camera functions.

Replacing the Propeller Blades

The propeller system may need repair/replacement after high-speed crashes.

1. The ASC-2080 has four sets of blades: A & B on the front, B & A on the rear (see Diagram V).

3. Unscrew and remove the damaged blade.

  • WARNING: The ASC-2080 is for INDOOR & OUTDOOR use. Blades revolve at high speeds and can cause damage. Stand away from the drone. Warn spectators. Inspect rotor blades before flight.
  • WARNING! Choking/Cutting Hazard: Small Parts/Sharp Rotor Blades.
  • Keep hands, hair, and loose clothing away from propellers when power is ON.
  • Turn off the transmitter and drone when not in use.
  • Use only the included charger for the Li-Poly battery. Do not use for other batteries.
  • New alkaline batteries are recommended for maximum performance.
  • Parental supervision is recommended.

Battery Warnings

  • RECHARGEABLE BATTERY: This ASC-2080 uses a Li-Poly rechargeable battery. Dispose of properly if it no longer holds a charge.
  • CONTROLLER BATTERIES: Requires 3 "AAA" batteries (not included). Follow battery safety warnings:
    • Do not mix battery types (alkaline, carbon-zinc, rechargeable).
    • Do not mix old and new batteries.
    • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
    • Remove rechargeable batteries before charging.
    • Charge rechargeable batteries under adult supervision.
    • Remove exhausted batteries immediately and recycle/dispose of properly.
    • Do not short-circuit supply terminals.
    • Use only recommended battery types.
    • Insert batteries with correct polarity.
    • Do not dispose of batteries in fire; they may leak or explode.

Care and Maintenance

  • Remove batteries from the remote control if not used for an extended period.
  • Clean with a clean, damp cloth.
  • Keep away from direct heat or sunlight.
  • Do not submerge the toy in water.

Warranty Information

Limited 90-Day Warranty (North America)

AMAX Group USA warrants the original consumer that this product is free from electrical or mechanical defects for 90 DAYS from the date of purchase. If a defect is discovered within the warranty period, AMAX Group USA will repair or replace the unit free of charge upon receipt of the unit, shipped postage prepaid and insured to their warranty center, along with the original receipt. The warranty covers normal consumer use and does not cover damage from shipment, alterations, accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, wear and tear, inadequate maintenance, commercial use, or unreasonable use. Removal of parts voids all warranties. This warranty does not cover repairs made or attempted by third parties. Implied warranties are limited to 90 DAYS. Consequential or incidental damages are excluded. Some states may not allow these limitations.

Repair/Replace Product

If the product malfunctions, contact the warranty center. If a return is necessary, an RMA number/form and return address will be issued. AMAX reserves the right to repair, replace, or refund the product.
