1. Installation Guide
This section provides a visual guide to the installation process of the Kaadas RX-B/RX-D smart lock.
Components shown: Backup key, Exterior assembly, Interior assembly, Mounting plate, Bolt, Cross bolt, Mounting screws (3), Cross bolt screws (2).
2. Specifications
Exterior Assembly Dimensions: 169mm(L)x157mm(W)x64.7mm(H)
Interior Assembly Dimensions: 182.4mm(L)x157.5mm(W)x69.3mm(H)
Battery: AA alkaline battery x 4 (not included)
Operation Voltage: 4.6~6.0V
Remarks:
- Operation temperature: -4°F to 129°F (-20°C to 55°C)
- Battery life: Lasts up to six months (assuming 10 times open/close per day)
Additional Components: Optional Bolt, Faceplate
Tools Needed:
- Door prep: 1.2-1/8" (54mm) hole saw, 1" (26mm) boring bit, 7/64" (2.5mm) drill bit, 3/8" (10mm) drill bit, Chisel & Hammer
- Lock installation: #2 Philips screwdriver
Important Notice: Ensure the door is prepared before installation. An upper hole can be drilled for added stability. Refer to the provided template for drilling if needed.
Door Prep Steps:
- Measure the dimension of the hole. No adjustment needed.
- Change faceplate if necessary. No change necessary.
- Adjust the deadbolt: The bolt ships with a 2-3/8" (60mm) backset. To extend to 2-3/4" (70mm), turn the bolt case and pull. Ensure the bolt is in the retracted (unlocked) position when changing the backset.
3. Preparing for Installation
This section details the preparation steps for installing the lock, including door preparation and bolt adjustment.
Door Prep:
- Hole Saw: 2-1/8" (54mm)
- Boring Bit: 1" (26mm)
- Drill Bit: 7/64" (2.5mm)
- Drill Bit: 3/8" (10mm)
- Tools: Chisel & Hammer
Lock Installation Tools: #2 Philips screwdriver
Important Notice: Make sure your door is prepared prior to installation. An upper hole can be drilled for added stability. Refer to the provided template for drilling if needed.
Door Preparation Steps:
- Measure the dimension of the hole shown. No adjustment needed.
- Change faceplate, if necessary. No change necessary.
- Adjust the deadbolt: The bolt ships with a 2-3/8" (60mm) backset. If required, turn the bolt case and pull to extend to the 2-3/4" (70mm) backset position. The bolt must be in the retracted (unlocked) position when changing the backset.
4. Installation
This section outlines the steps for installing the smart lock components.
- Install latch: Ensure the latch angle faces the door jamb.
- Install strike onto door jamb: Attach the strike plate to the door jamb. A wood block may be used for support.
- Install crossbolt: Secure the crossbolt.
- Install keypad: Mount the keypad assembly.
- Position the inside mounting plate: Route the cable and connector through the mounting plate's cable hole. Secure both assemblies using 8/30 screws.
- Attach cable assembly to the interior assembly PCB: Align the notches on the cable connector with the slots on the PCB connector. Press the connector firmly until completely connected.
- Secure using screw: Fasten the interior assembly to the mounting plate using a screw.
- Install interior assembly: Mount the interior assembly onto the inside mounting plate.
- Install exterior lever: Attach the exterior lever.
- Install interior lever: Attach the interior lever (left-out or right-out configuration).
Congratulations, you have installed your new lock. Please follow the instructions to program your lock.
5. Warning
Failure to follow these instructions could result in damage to the product and void the factory warranty. The accuracy of the door preparation is critical for the proper functioning and security of this product. Misalignment can cause performance degradation and lessen security.
Finish Care: Clean with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid lacquer thinner, caustic soaps, abrasive cleaners, or polishes, as they can damage the coating and cause tarnishing.
IMPORTANT: Do not install batteries until the lock is completely installed on the door.
PIN Code Information:
- Master PIN Code (4~10 digit): Default is "12345678". Modify it after installation. If forgotten, the lock can be reset to factory settings.
- User PIN Code (4~10 digit): Can be set up via the Master PIN code. Up to 20 user PIN codes can be stored.
- PIN Code Restrictions: Master and user PIN codes do not support the following combinations: Forward number sequence, Backward number sequence, Repeat number sequence, Contain existing code sequence.
Silent Mode (Speaker enable/disable): Can be programmed via Master PIN code or APP.
Bluetooth settings (only for RX-D): Can be programmed via Master PIN code or APP. Bluetooth is disabled by default.
6. Definitions
- Master Mode: Accessed by entering [** + Master PIN Code + #] to program the lock.
- Master PIN code: Used for programming and feature settings.
- Manual Mode: For high traffic doors; allows opening without PIN code or key. Can be temporarily disabled by pressing and holding any key for 2 seconds from the outside.
- Shutdown Time: The lock shuts down for a default of 3 minutes after the wrong code entry limit (10 times) is reached, preventing operation. The light flashes during shutdown when the keypad is activated.
- Silent Mode: The beeper will not produce sound.
- Status indicators: Located on the exterior assembly.
- User PIN code: Operates the lock. Maximum capacity is 20.
- Reset button: Resets the lock to factory default settings, deleting all user credentials.

8. Lock Operation
Manual Mode Switch: Move the switch to enable or disable manual mode.
Unlock the door: Use Master/User PIN code or key.
Lock the door: The door locks automatically in Auto re-lock mode 5 seconds after unlocking. Manual Mode can be activated by pressing any key on the keypad for 2 seconds.
Unlock with Fake PIN code: Enter random digits before or after the PIN code to prevent exposure.
Change Master PIN code: Follow the on-screen prompts after activating the screen and entering the current Master PIN code.
Add User PIN codes:
- Activate the screen.
- Enter "**" + Master PIN Code + "#".
- Enter "2".
- Enter "1" to add a user PIN code.
- Enter the new User PIN code followed by "#".
- Repeat step 5 to confirm.
- To add more users, repeat steps 4-5.
CAUTION: PIN code entry must be within 10 seconds. Press "*" to return to the previous menu if needed.
Delete User PIN codes:
- Activate the screen.
- Enter "**" + Master PIN Code + "#".
- Enter "3".
- Enter "1" for voice guide for deleted PIN code.
- Enter the PIN code to delete, and confirm with "#".
- To delete more users, repeat steps 1-4.
CAUTION: User Number entry must be within 10 seconds. Deleting all User PIN codes requires resetting the lock to factory default settings.
Reset to factory default settings: Open the battery box, find the reset button, and press and hold it for 5 seconds until a voice guide is heard. All user data and settings will be deleted.
9. Function extension settings (only for RX-D)
Network features can only be programmed through the Master PIN code.
- Activate the screen.
- Enter "*" twice and the Master PIN Code followed by "#".
- Enter "8" to join the network.
- Enter "1" to log in to the network.
- Enter "2" to log out of the network.
CAUTION: If the lock is connected to a network controller, it is recommended to program through the centralized user interface (PC or hand-held device) to ensure communication.

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
The antenna of this product, under normal use condition, is at least 20cm away from the body of the user. Warning statement to the user for keeping at least 20cm or more separation distance from the antenna should be included in the User manual. So, this device is classified as Mobile device.
