1. Important Information

Safety

Read and understand all instructions before using this smart lock. Damages caused by failure to follow instructions are not covered by the warranty.

It is recommended to use the enclosures/accessories specified by Kaadas.

Use only the batteries configured for this product.

Do not forcibly disassemble the product to avoid alarm or damage to the product.

Do not scratch the fingerprint sensor with sharp objects, as it could cause permanent damage.

Do not expose the product to corrosive substances to avoid damaging the protective layer of the shell.

Do not hang objects on the handle/holder to avoid affecting the normal use of the door lock.

For cleaning the product, please wipe it with a soft cloth.

Do not disassemble the battery while the device is in operation.

Please choose a professional engineer to install the door lock and follow Kaadas' standard installation instruction, and do not install it by yourself. After the door lock is installed, please change the default master PIN code immediately and keep the mechanical key in a safe place. Do not disclose the PIN code to an unknown person.

If the door lock triggers the low battery alarm, please replace the fully charged lithium battery in time.

Warning

Do not place the battery close to fire in case of explosion.

Do not use emergency power supplies that do not comply with safety regulations to power the product.

Do not short-circuit the two poles of the battery lead with metal objects to avoid explosion.

Make sure replacement or maintenance are done by a professional person authorized by Kaadas.

Your warranty may be invalidated if you used accessories produced by other manufacturers or not recommended by Kaadas.

Disposal of used battery and lock

Please understand the local electronic product classification and collection system.

Please follow the local regulations and do not discard used batteries into ordinary household garbage.

Properly disposing of used products helps to avoid potential negative impacts on the environment and human health.

The battery cannot be disposed of with ordinary household garbage.

2. Install the smart lock

Package list

This package list is for reference only, and all contents are subject to the actual packaging contents.

Before installation

Check the door opening direction before installation:

Latch bolt reversing

  1. Use a hex key to loosen the screws counterclockwise and remove the face plate.
  2. Take out the latch bolt, turn it 180° to change the latch bolt direction, and put it back.
  3. Install the face plate and tighten the screws with the hex key. The reversing is complete.

Installation steps

  1. Drill holes on the door before installing the lock, then install the mortise in the door and secure the mortise with supplied screws.
  2. Cut the proper length tailpiece according to the door thickness.
  3. Install the connecting screw post on the front panel and put the tailpiece in the shaft hole.
  4. Cut the proper length of the break-off screw for the thickness of the door.
  5. Send connection cables through the hole on the door and insert the tailpiece of the front panel through the rotating hole on the mortise, then fix the front panel with the mounting plate.
  6. Insert the front panel connection cable and mortise connection cable to the corresponding interface on the back panel. Fasten tightly the front and back WiFi connection cables.
  7. Put back surplus length connection cables into the hole on the door and insert the tailpiece into the emergency thumb turn of the back panel, then secure the back panel with screws and load the Lithium battery and close the battery cover.
  8. Check the front panel and back panel after installation to ensure all parts are connected correctly.

4. Set your smart lock

Before you set up

The lock system can enable/disable dual-verification. When dual-verification is enabled, it is required to verify two types of credentials at the same time to unlock. When dual-verification is disabled, it only needs to verify one type of credential to unlock.

Note: Before Dual-verification is enabled, you must add PIN code and fingerprint. User can enter the visual protection PIN code either before or after entering the correct PIN code. (The user PIN code and the visual protection PIN code can contain a maximum of 32 characters).

Enter Master mode

  1. Touch the keypad with the palm to wake up the keypad; the keyboard light will light up.
  2. Double press the '*' key, then enter the master PIN code, press the '#' key to confirm.
  3. Voice prompt: "The system has entered master mode".

Note: If the master PIN code is the initial password, users need to change the master PIN code first before other operations.

User settings

Add normal user

When adding a user, the smart lock automatically recognizes and adds PIN code and fingerprint in master mode. The user can directly add the corresponding credentials.

To add a user PIN code: In Master mode, press 1 to enter user settings, then press 1 to add a user PIN code, enter a new user PIN code, press '#' to confirm, enter the user PIN code again, press '#' to confirm. Voice prompt: "Setup successful".

To add a user fingerprint: In Master mode, press 1 to enter user settings, then press 1 to add a user fingerprint, enter a new user fingerprint, and wait for the voice prompt: "Setup successful".

Add One-time PIN code

In Master mode: Press 1, then 2. Enter a new PIN code, press '#' to confirm, enter the PIN code again, press '#' to confirm. Voice prompt: "Setup successful".

Add master fingerprint

In Master mode: Press 1, then 3. Enter a new master fingerprint until the voice prompt: "Setup successful".

Change master PIN code

In Master mode: Press 1, then 4. Enter a new master PIN code, press '#' to confirm, enter the master PIN code again, press '#' to confirm. Voice prompt: "Setup successful".

Delete a user

In Master mode: Press 1, then 5.

Turn on/off Dual-verification

In Master mode: Press 1, then 6. Voice prompt: "Setup successful, turn on (or off) Dual-verification".

Turn on/off automatic mode

In Master mode: Press 1, then 7. Voice prompt: "Setup successful, automatic mode/manual mode".

Turn on/off power saving mode

In Master mode: Press 1, then 8. After the setting is successful, the smart lock enters the power saving mode.

In power saving mode, the video intercom function is stopped. When the battery power of the door lock reaches a certain low level, the door lock will automatically start the power-saving mode. If the video intercom function needs to be enabled again, please replace the fully charged battery, then automatically exit the power-saving mode and resume the video intercom function.

Language settings

In Master mode: Press 2 to enter Language Settings. Press 1 to select Chinese, press 2 to select English.

Network configuration

In Master mode: Press 4. Voice prompt: "Network configuration settings entered". Perform network configuration operation according to the guidance of the APP. This lock only supports 2.4Ghz WiFi frequency and does not support 5Ghz frequency. Make sure the distance between the router and the lock does not exceed 10m, otherwise, weak signal may affect the connection effect.

Before network configuration, please scan the QR code to download and install the APP. Please complete registration if you use this APP for the first time. Open the APP home page after signing in successfully, click '+' at the top-right corner, select "scan code to add", then scan the QR code on the back of the battery cover to add the device. Please follow the guide of the APP for network configuration operation.

Note: Please ensure the latest app version if you have already downloaded the "Kaadas Intelligent" APP on your phone. If the QR code on the battery cover cannot be scanned, please select "manual add", then select the searched device or enter K20 Pro at the top to go to the corresponding add boot page.

Camera settings

After the smart lock has been configured with a WiFi network, you can use the APP to check the situation outside the door (remote video intercom). By default, the smart lock will enable the function of remote wake-up to view the video (WiFi to maintain a long connection). If this function is rarely used at ordinary times, you can also disable this function in the APP settings to save the power of the smart lock and realize longer battery life.

Note: After turning off the remote wake-up to check the situation outside the door (WiFi long connection), when someone rings the doorbell, you can still receive the doorbell message and check the situation outside the door. Within 3 minutes after ringing the doorbell, you can open the APP to check the situation outside the door actively (video intercom).

Wandering alarm

The smart lock has a PIR (human infrared detection) function. When a suspicious person wanders outside the door for more than the specified time (default: 10 seconds, can be set to 10-60 seconds), the wandering alarm will be triggered. The smart lock will capture a video and push an alarm message (including a snapshot picture) to your mobile APP in real time. You can open the APP to view the captured picture and download the alarm video remotely.

Note: Wandering alarm function is turned off by default. To use this function, please turn it on in APP Settings.

5. Use the smart lock

Unlock from outside (normal mode)

Unlock by PIN code

Touch the pad screen with your palm to lighten the keypad, then enter the registered PIN code with '#' at the end. Voice prompt: "Verification successful, please open the door".

Unlock by fingerprint

Place the registered finger properly on the fingerprint sensor area. Voice prompt: "Verification successful, please open the door".

Warning: In normal mode (Dual-verification is disabled), continuously entering the wrong PIN code or fingerprint 5 times in a short period will lock the system for 100 seconds. In safety mode (Dual-verification is enabled), continuously entering any wrong two credentials combination 5 times, including PIN code or fingerprint, will lock the system for 100 seconds.

Unlock by mechanical key

You can unlock by mechanical key if you forget the PIN code, the battery runs out, or the system encounters an error. Insert the mechanical key and then rotate 180° to unlock.

If your door is right opening direction, please turn the key clockwise.

If your door is left opening direction, please turn the key counterclockwise.

Unlock by back panel sensing handle

When the sensor handle function is enabled, holding the front and back sides of the sensing handle at the same time and covering the unlocking sensor can unlock from the inside. When the sensing handle function is disabled, please use the OPEN button to unlock.

Unlock/lock from inside

  1. CLOSE button: Press the CLOSE button once to lock. Long press the CLOSE button for 3 seconds to enable privacy mode. In privacy mode, the lock can only be opened from the inside or by master credentials from the outside.
  2. OPEN button: Press the OPEN button twice to unlock.
  3. Turn on/off the sensing handle: Press the OPEN button and CLOSE button simultaneously for 10 seconds to turn on or off the sensing handle.
  4. After turning off the sensing handle, if the handle sensor is triggered, the CLOSE light will flash to alert you. You can press the OPEN button + CLOSE button for 10 seconds to switch on the sensing handle.

Volume adjustment

When the system is in voice mode, you can long press a button to enable mute mode after the keypad is waked up. When the system is in mute mode, you can long press the button to enable voice mode after the keypad is waked up and no number is entered.

Defense mode

  1. Enable: After closing the door, press the defense mode button to enable defense mode. Voice prompt: "Defense mode enabled". In defense mode, if someone unlocks from the inside, an alarm will be triggered.
  2. Disable: Defense mode will be disabled once it is unlocked from the outside.

Emergency thumb turn

When system functions are abnormal, you can rotate the emergency thumb turn to the unlocking position to unlock from the inside.

Doorbell function

When someone presses the doorbell button, the doorbell sounds and the video intercom camera will shoot a video to send to the paired APP and send a notice. You can press the notice to see the real-time situation outside the door. (The APP will display incoming calls in the background. Ensure that the APP (Android) has been granted automatic startup and whitelist permissions. Otherwise, the Android phone may not receive push messages). In real-time video intercom, a one-time PIN code can be generated, and the APP side can take screenshots and record screens.

PS: It is required to pair the lock first to open the real-time video intercom camera function and make sure the lock is network configured (please refer to the previous WiFi network configuration).

Inside display screen

  1. Press the awaken button once to wake up the display screen to see the outside situation. Press the awaken button again to close the display screen and awaken button light.
  2. Display light-up time: 5/10/15 seconds (default 10 seconds). Brightness (high, medium, and low, default medium). User can set it in the mobile app.
  3. Display is on by default when you press the doorbell. You can turn it on or turn it off in the mobile app.
  4. Display screen is turn on: Outdoor click doorbell, the display and awaken button light come on simultaneously. You can watch the dynamic outside the door in real time through the display. Touch the awaken button again to turn off the display.
  5. Display screen is turn off: Outdoor click doorbell, only the awaken button light comes on. Touch the awaken button, you can watch the dynamic outside the door in real time through the display. Touch the awaken button again to turn off the display.

6. Other functions

Factory reset

If you forget the master PIN code, when the battery is working properly, you can double press the reset button on the back panel with an eject pin, then press the '#' key on the keypad within 15 seconds according to the voice guide to confirm restoring to factory settings. After the setting is successful, voice prompt: "The factory settings have been restored".

System reboot

If you need to reboot the system, you can use a 5V power bank as an emergency power supply and power the door lock through the Type-C port.

Emergency power supply

When the battery voltage is too low to open the lock from outside, you can use a 5V power bank to charge the door lock via the Type-C port. After the door is unlocked, please replace the battery immediately.

Note: When the battery is too low, voice prompt "Low battery, please change battery in time" at each unlocking. Please replace the battery immediately.

Replace battery

When the voice prompt "low battery, please change battery in time", please follow the prompt to change the battery in time.
