TPI Room Thermostat Working Logic
The Room Thermostat utilizes the TPI (Time Proportional Integral) algorithm. TPI technology predicts when room temperatures will deviate from the setpoint and adjusts heating/cooling cycles accordingly. This ensures the room temperature remains stable, minimizing deviations and optimizing energy consumption.
What is TPI?
TPI technology is designed for maximum energy efficiency. It measures and applies optimal timings to maintain your home at the desired temperature level.
How does TPI work?
Leveraging advanced artificial intelligence, the thermostat adapts to environmental temperature changes. It builds a temperature map of your home to learn how long it takes to reach and maintain a specific temperature. This allows it to calculate the precise operating time for your heating/cooling unit, leading to minimum energy consumption.
What is the difference?
Traditional On/Off thermostats cycle the heating/cooling unit continuously, causing significant temperature fluctuations. TPI Room Thermostats, conversely, provide greater savings and comfort by maintaining a more stable temperature.
TPI Room Thermostat Heating/Cooling Mode Graphics
These graphics illustrate how the TPI algorithm maintains room temperature.
Heating Mode:
The thermostat uses the average room temperature from the last 40 seconds. The TPI algorithm creates a temperature map to learn how long it takes to reach and maintain the desired temperature, ensuring it stays within a narrow range.
The graph shows temperature (°C) on the Y-axis and Time on the X-axis. The 'Desired Temperature' line is relatively flat, representing the target. The 'TPI Room Thermostat' line fluctuates minimally around the desired temperature, demonstrating precise control with small deviations. This contrasts with a typical on/off system which would show larger swings.
Cooling Mode:
Similar to heating mode, the thermostat uses the average room temperature from the last 40 seconds and the TPI algorithm to maintain the desired temperature within a specific range.
This graph illustrates temperature (°C) over Time. The 'Desired Temperature' line indicates the target cooling point. The 'TPI Room Thermostat' line closely tracks this target, showing efficient and stable cooling with minimal overshoot or undershoot.
Synchronous Operation and Safety
Your Room Thermostat sends its last status signal to the Receiver every 6 minutes to ensure synchronous operation. If the signal is not received by the Receiver for 22 minutes, it assumes the connection is broken and safely shuts down the heating/cooling operation. In cases of power restoration after an outage, the Receiver will not operate the heating/cooling unit until it receives an 'operate' signal from the Room Thermostat. If the Room Thermostat continues to operate normally, it will send status signals every 10 minutes, maintaining proper function without manual intervention.
Important Considerations for TPI Room Thermostats
- Placement Changes: If the Room Thermostat's location is changed, the learning process will restart and typically takes about 7 days to complete.
- Power Interruption: If the thermostat is de-energized (e.g., during battery replacement), the learning process will also restart and requires approximately 7 days.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my Room Thermostat compatible with my heating/cooling unit?
Your Room Thermostat is compatible if your heating/cooling unit has on/off connections. Consult your unit's operating manual or service provider for specific compatibility information.
How will I connect my heating/cooling unit with my Receiver?
It is recommended that the connection between the Receiver and the heating/cooling unit be made by professionally qualified persons. A 2x0.75 mm² cable is sufficient for the connection. Connect one end of the cable pair to the room thermostat connection terminals as stated in your heating/cooling unit's user manual. Connect the other end of the cable pair to the COM and NO inputs of the terminal inside the Receiver, as shown in the "RECEIVER WIRING DIAGRAM" section. The orientation of the cable ends does not matter.
