TPI Room Thermostat Working Logic

What is TPI?

TPI (Time Proportional Integral) technology is designed to ensure optimal energy efficiency for your heating/cooling system. It measures and applies the most effective timings to deliver and maintain your home at the desired temperature level.

How does TPI work?

Leveraging advanced artificial intelligence in its software, the thermostat adapts to environmental temperature changes. By creating a general temperature map of your home, it learns how long it takes to reach the desired room temperature and how to maintain it. This process allows for minimum energy consumption by calculating the optimal operating duration for your heating/cooling unit.

What is the difference?

Traditional "On/Off" room thermostats cause the heating/cooling unit to cycle on and off continuously, leading to significant temperature fluctuations. TPI Room Thermostats, conversely, offer superior energy savings and comfort due to their intelligent cycle management.

Heating Mode

Your room thermostat bases its operation on the average room temperature recorded over the last 40 seconds. The TPI algorithm builds a thermal map of your home, learning the time required to reach and maintain the desired room temperature, thereby ensuring the room temperature stays within a stable range.

Heating Mode Working Graphic

A graph illustrates the heating mode operation. The Y-axis represents Temperature (°C) and the X-axis represents Time. It shows a line for the 'Desired Temperature' and a line for the 'TPI Room Thermostat' temperature, demonstrating how the TPI system aims to keep the actual temperature close to the setpoint with minimal deviation.

Cooling Mode

Similar to heating mode, your room thermostat uses the average room temperature over the last 40 seconds. The TPI algorithm learns your home's thermal characteristics to efficiently reach and maintain the desired cooling temperature, ensuring stability.

Cooling Mode Working Graphic

A graph illustrates the cooling mode operation. The Y-axis represents Temperature (°C) and the X-axis represents Time. It shows a line for the 'Desired Temperature' and a line for the 'TPI Room Thermostat' temperature, depicting the system's performance in maintaining the set cooling point.

Operational Notes

The Room Thermostat sends its last status signal to the Receiver every 10 minutes, ensuring synchronization. If the Receiver does not receive a signal from the Room Thermostat for 22 minutes, it interprets this as a connection break and stops the heating/cooling operation for safety. In cases of power failure, the Receiver will not operate the heating/cooling unit until it receives an 'operate' signal from the Room Thermostat. If the Room Thermostat continues to operate normally, it will automatically re-establish communication by sending status signals every 10 minutes.

What to Know About TPI Room Thermostat

  • If the placement of the TPI Room Thermostats is changed, the learning process will restart. This learning process is estimated to take 7 days.
  • If the TPI Room Thermostats are de-energized (e.g., due to battery replacement), the learning process will restart, also estimated to take 7 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my Room Thermostat compatible with my heating/cooling unit?

Your Room Thermostat is compatible if your heating/cooling unit has on-off connections. You can find detailed information about your unit's compatibility in its operating manual or by contacting your heating/cooling unit service provider.

How will I connect my heating/cooling unit with my Receiver?

We recommend that the connection between the Receiver and the heating/cooling unit be made by professionally qualified persons. A 2x0.75 mm² cable is sufficient for this connection. Connect one end of the cable pair to the room thermostat connection terminals specified in your heating/cooling unit's user manual. Connect the other end of the cable pair to the COM and NO inputs of the terminal inside the Receiver, as shown in the "RECEIVER WIRING DIAGRAM" section.
