Installing Your Dimmer

Installation for lights with one wall switch (single pole).

  1. Turn Power Off

Turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse before installing. ⚠️ [Warning: Shock Hazard. May result in serious injury or death.]

  2. Remove Existing Switch

Remove the wallplate from the switch. Remove the switch and pull it away from the wall. Disconnect all wires from the switch.

If your switch has more than 3 wires, refer to the installation video at www.casetawireless.com/3way.

  3. Remove Side Sections (If Necessary)

Side sections of the dimmer may need to be removed depending on the wallbox configuration. Bend back and forth to remove. Do not remove outside side sections on dimmers at the end of a gang. Each dimmer has inside side sections removed. A dimmer in the middle has all side sections removed.

  4. Connect the Dimmer

    Wire connections:

    • Connect the bare copper (or green) "ground" wire from the wallbox to the green wire on the dimmer using a wire connector.
    • Connect the load wire from the wallbox to the red wire on the dimmer using a wire connector.
    • Connect the hot wire from the wallbox to the black wire on the dimmer using a wire connector.
    • If available, connect the neutral wire from the wallbox to the white wire on the dimmer. If neutral is not available, cap the white wire with a wire connector. [Note: Neutral wire is required for MLV loads, LED drivers, PHPM PA, PHPM-3F, GRX-TVI.]
    • Cap the blue wire with a wire connector. [Note: The blue wire is only used for a 3-way installation with a mechanical toggle switch. See www.casetawireless.com/3way for details.]
  5. Mount the Dimmer

Use the provided screws to mount the dimmer into the wallbox.

  6. Attach the Wallplate

Attach the adapter to the dimmer using the provided screws and snap on the wallplate. If installing next to other devices, ensure the wallplate has the correct number and size of openings.

  7. Turn Power On

Turn power back on at the circuit breaker.

Important Note: 3-Way Installation

If more than one switch controls the light, this is a 3-way installation. You will need to purchase a PJ2-WALL-WH-L01. Visit www.casetawireless.com/3way for more details.

Important Note on Wattage Derating

Removing side sections reduces the dimmer's maximum wattage rating. See the chart below for maximum wattage information.
