Installation - Option 1: Ci 250xx Series (Standard Cylindrical Latch)
This section outlines the installation for the SALTO XS4 Mini ANSI with a standard cylindrical latch, without override functionality.
Step 1: Prepare Inside and Outside Assemblies
Inside Assembly: Attach the spacer plate to the inside assembly. Insert the cartridge, spring, and spindle into the latch mechanism. The inside lever and cover will be secured later with a fixing screw.
Outside Assembly: Mount the outside assembly, ensuring the spindle correctly passes through the latch mechanism. The SFIC Cylinder (not included) is installed into the outside assembly.
Step 2: Select Handing
Determine and select the correct handing (L for Left, R for Right) for the lock mechanism by orienting the spindle as shown in the diagrams.
Step 3: Mount Lock Body to Door
Position the outside and inside assemblies onto the door. Use the four (4) TORX 20 self-tapping screws to securely fasten the main lock body to the door, ensuring proper alignment.
Step 4: Attach Levers and Covers
Connect the inside lever to the spindle and secure the inside cover using the fixing screw. The outside lever is also attached at this stage.
Step 5: Final Securing
Ensure all components are correctly seated and firmly attached. The installation involves aligning parts and securing them with the appropriate TORX screws.
Installation - Option 2: Ci 270xx Series (With Override)
This section details the installation process for the SALTO XS4 Mini ANSI Ci 270xx series, which features override capabilities.
Step 1: Prepare and Mount Components
Begin by preparing the inside and outside assemblies. Install the latch mechanism into the door edge and secure the strike plate to the door frame. Ensure correct Left Hand (LH) or Right Hand (RH) orientation is selected for the lock.
Step 2: Insert Control and User Keys
Insert the CONTROL KEY into its designated slot on the lock mechanism. Subsequently, insert the USER KEY into its corresponding slot.
Step 3: Assemble Lock Body and Levers
Attach the inside and outside levers, ensuring they properly engage with the spindle. Secure the main lock body and covers using the provided TORX screws.
Step 4: Verify Operation
Confirm that all parts are securely fastened and that the lock operates smoothly when using the control and user keys.
General Installation Steps
The following steps provide a comprehensive overview of the assembly process, applicable to both installation options:
Step 1: Install Latch and Strike Plate
Fit the latch mechanism into the door edge and secure the strike plate to the door frame using screws. Ensure proper alignment for smooth operation.
Step 2: Mount Outside Assembly
Attach the outside assembly to the door. The spindle must align correctly with the latch mechanism, passing through it as required.
Step 3: Mount Inside Assembly
Position the inside assembly on the interior side of the door. Align it with the outside assembly and the spindle. Secure the inside assembly using the TORX 20 screws.
Step 4: Insert Batteries
Open the battery compartment located on the inside assembly. Insert two (2) AA LR6 batteries, paying close attention to the correct polarity. A "click!" sound may indicate proper seating.
Step 5: Attach Inside Lever and Cover
Connect the inside lever to the spindle. Secure the inside cover using the fixing screw. Ensure the lever is fully seated and engages correctly.
Step 6: Secure Main Lock Body
Use the TORX 20 screws to firmly attach the main lock body to the door. The 'CTRL' screw is utilized for securing the cover in place.
Step 7: Final Lever Engagement
Confirm the inside lever is correctly attached and engages with the spindle. A "push!" action may be necessary to fully seat all components during assembly.
Step 8: Final Securing and Checks
Complete the installation by fastening all covers and ensuring all screws are appropriately tightened. Verify the lock's functionality.
