General Information & Components
This guide provides instructions for installing the SALTO XS4 Mini ANSI with a cylindrical latch. It is available in English, French, and Spanish.
Key Components and Dimensions:
- Outside Dimensions: 1-35/64" (39mm) from edge, 1-1/16" (27mm) from top.
- Inside Dimensions: 1-35/64" (39mm) from edge, 1-1/16" (27mm) from top.
- Backset: 2-43/64" (68mm)
- Spindle Hole: 3-23/64" (85mm)
- Clutch + Override Mod.: For use with SALTO Cylindrical Latch only.
- Required Tools: PH2 screwdriver, TORX 20 screwdriver.
- Included Hardware: PH2 screws (x2), TORX 20 screws (x1), TORX 20x12 self-tapping screws (x4), TORX 20 screws (x2).
- Optional Components: Spacer plate, Cylinder support (for standard cylinders).
Note: For door preparation, refer to documents 4DS00004 or 4DS00005.
Installation Steps
Option 1: Ci 250 xx Series (Standard Installation)
- Prepare the Door: Ensure correct door thickness and prepare according to provided dimensions.
- Install the Latch: Insert the latch mechanism into the door edge.
- Mount the Inside Assembly: Attach the inside assembly to the door using mounting screws.
- Attach the Spindle and Cartridge: Connect the spindle and cartridge to the latch mechanism.
- Install the Outside Assembly: Fit the outside assembly onto the door, ensuring the spindle engages correctly.
- Secure the Assemblies: Use the fixing screws to secure the inside and outside assemblies.
- Install the Inside Lever and Cover: Attach the inside lever and cover, securing with the fixing screw.
- Install the Outside Lever: Attach the outside lever.
- Final Check: Ensure all parts are securely fastened and the mechanism operates smoothly.

Option 2: Ci 260 xx with Override
Follow similar steps as Option 1, paying attention to the override mechanism installation as shown in the diagrams on page 2.
Door Detector Installation (Models with Door Detector)
- Unplug the door detector connector.
- Plug the door detector connector back in.
Note: For installation details, see document 225469.
Refer to diagrams on page 4 for visual guidance.
Battery Change
- Remove the inside lever and cover.
- Remove the old batteries.
- Insert new batteries (LR06 AA).
- Reassemble the inside lever and cover.
Refer to diagrams on pages 3 and 4 for visual guidance.
Handling and Orientation
Select Handing: Choose the correct handing (Left 'L' or Right 'R') for the lever as shown in the diagrams on page 1.
Installation Steps (Visual Summary):
- Steps 1-4: Initial assembly and mounting on the door.
- Steps 5-8: Securing the internal and external components.
- Steps 9-10: Battery installation and final checks.
- Steps 11-12: Door detector and final lever attachment.
Important Notes:
- Ensure correct cylinder support is used based on cylinder length.
- Pay attention to the 'click!' indicators for proper engagement.
- Use the correct screws (TORX 20) for assembly.
- The 'Real size' indicators are provided for component verification.
Troubleshooting and Notes
- If the mechanism does not operate smoothly, re-check all connections and screw tightness.
- Ensure the spindle is correctly inserted into the latch mechanism.
- The 'NOT OK' symbol indicates an incorrect installation step or component.
