Installation Regulations
The module is designed for panel mounting. For optimal operation and longevity, ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid mounting modules near heat-generating equipment.
Menu Parameter Modification
Parameter modification is done digit by digit. The digit to be modified flashes (appears larger). The following describes the button functions:
- [Up Arrow Button]: Increases the value of the digit by one unit.
- [Down Arrow Button]: Decreases the value of the digit by one unit.
- [OK/MENU Button]: Confirms the value of the digit and moves to the next. If it's the last digit, it confirms the value and subsequent presses return to the parameter selection.
Negative Values: The last digit allows entry of the '-' sign or the value '-1'.
CAUTION: Parameter values entered outside the allowed range are automatically reset to the nearest valid value within the range and then displayed. For example, setting HI-E to 40.0 will result in it being set to the maximum value of 20.00.
Parameter Configuration Example
Objective: Configure the instrument to display a 0 ÷ 10 V voltage input with an activated filter.
- Access the menu by pressing [DOWN Button] + [MENU Button] simultaneously for 3 seconds until the 'I.N.P.T' menu appears.
- Press the [OK/MENU Button] to access the 'I.N.P.T' sub-menu and set:
- TYPE = 0 (Voltage input)
- LO-E = 00.00
- HI-E = 10.00
- Press the [OK/MENU Button] to access the 'S.C.A.L.' sub-menu and set:
- LO-D = 0
- HI-D = 1000
- D.P.-D = 2 (Sets decimal point for 00.00 format)
- F.I.L.T. = 1 (Activates filter level 1)
Electrical Connections
The module supports both Current Input and Voltage Input, with options for external power supply or power supplied by the instrument.
Power Supply
Connects to 10÷40Vdc or 10÷28Vac. Maximum absorption is 1W.
Current Input (0-20mA)
Connection: Terminals 4 and 5.
Power Source: Can be powered by an external sensor supply or by the instrument.
Voltage Input (-10 to +10V)
Connection: Terminals 4 (Signal+) and 5 (-).
Power Source: Can be powered by an external sensor supply or by the instrument.
Error Types
The display may show specific codes indicating errors or operational states:
- nnnn: Indicates the displayed value is 3% higher than the 'HI-D' parameter set, or higher than 9999.
- UUUU: Indicates the displayed value is 3% higher than the 'LO-D' parameter set, or higher than -1999. Also indicates quick transition from 'nnnn' to 'UUUU' due to overcurrent protection (input > 25mA).
Menu Parameters
Parameter | Function | Default Value |
---|---|---|
PASS (C.O.N.F) | Password enabling for menu access. Setting a value other than 5477 requires a password. Default is 5477 (disabled). | 5477: Password disabled. |
TYPE (I.N.P.T) | Input type: 1 = Current, 0 = Voltage. | 1 |
LO-E (I.N.P.T) | Electrical Scale Start: Start of scale in Volts or mA. Defines input quantity for minimum display value (LO-d). Min settable: 0 (current), -10.00 (voltage). Max settable: 20.00 (current), 10.00 (voltage). | 4.00 (mA) |
HI-E (I.N.P.T) | Electrical Full Scale: Full scale in Volts or mA. Defines input quantity for maximum display value (HI-d). Min settable: 0 (current), -10.00 (voltage). Max settable: 20.00 (current), 10.00 (voltage). | 20.00 (mA) |
HI-d (S.C.A.L.) | Display Full Scale: Integer values between -1999 and 9999. | 1000 |
LO-d (S.C.A.L.) | Start of Display Scale: Integer values between -1999 and 9999. | 0 |
dP-d (S.C.A.L.) | Position of Decimal Point: 0=No decimal point, 1=Decimal point on 1st digit (000.0), 2=Decimal point on 2nd digit (00.00). | No decimal point |
FILT (S.C.A.L.) | Filter Level: 0=No filter, 1-5=Filter activated. | 0 |
dFLt (s.y.s.) | Default Settings: 1 = Overwrites set parameters with defaults and exits menu. | 0 |
COnt (s.y.s.) | Contrast: 0-3 = Adjusts display contrast. | 1 |
EXIT (E.X.I.T) | Menu Exit: Confirm with OK/MENU to save parameters to flash memory. | - |
Menu Navigation
The programming menu can be accessed by pressing the [DOWN Button] and [MENU Button] simultaneously for a few seconds. The menu structure allows navigation through parameters like PASS, TYPE, LO-E, HI-E, LO-D, HI-D, dP-d, FILT, dFLt, CONT, and EXIT using the UP, DOWN, and OK/MENU buttons. Each parameter can be modified, and changes are confirmed by pressing OK/MENU. The 'EXIT' function saves all settings.
