Diagram and Visual Guide
The diagram illustrates the TMZ8SN towbar assembly and its fitting points on the rear of a Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 vehicle. It shows the main crossmember (A), side arms (B), swan neck (C), spacer plates (D), and various bolts (E, F, G) and washers (J).
The central component is the towbar crossmember (Item A), a robust bar designed to fit behind the vehicle's rear impact beam. Two handed side arms (Item B) are designed to connect the crossmember (A) to the vehicle's chassis mounting points. A swan neck tow ball assembly (Item C) is shown, which attaches to the crossmember. A VASP8 L/H Socket Plate (Item H) is also part of this assembly, typically for electrical connections. Various fasteners are depicted: Spacer plates (Item D) are used in specific locations. Bolts of different lengths and grades (Items E, F, G) are used for securing the components. Nyloc nuts and flat washers (Item J) are used in conjunction with the bolts.
The diagram shows how the side arms (B) connect to the chassis. The crossmember (A) is shown fitting behind the impact beam. The swan neck (C) and socket plate (H) are mounted to the crossmember (A). The diagram also includes illustrations of the rear bumper area for Mazda 3 and Mazda 6, indicating specific measurements (e.g., 100mm width, 30mm clearance for Mazda 3, 110mm clearance for Mazda 6) relevant for bumper trimming or positioning.
A prominent red circular indicator with a central dot is shown, accompanied by the text "USE THIS SETTING ONLY", indicating a specific configuration or mounting point that must be used.
