Installation Guidelines
Follow these guidelines for proper and safe installation.
- Visually inspect the power cord for secure connection to the AC power connector.
- Ensure proper heat dissipation and adequate ventilation around the switch.
- Do not place heavy objects on the switch.
Desktop or Shelf Installation
Attach the rubber feet to the bottom corners of the device's base. Ensure sufficient ventilation space between the device and surrounding objects.

Rack Installation
Mount the switch in a standard 19-inch EIA rack. Attach the mounting brackets to the switch's side panels and secure them with screws. Then, use rack screws to mount the switch into the rack.

Installing Transceivers into the Transceiver Ports
The DSS-200G-10MP is equipped with ports for connecting SFP transceivers.

Grounding the Switch
This procedure must be completed before powering on the switch.
Required Tools and Equipment:
- Ground screw: One M4 x 6 mm (metric) pan-head screw.
- Grounding cable (not included): Cable must meet local/national requirements. A 12 to 6 AWG copper conductor is recommended. Length depends on proximity to grounding facilities.
- Screwdriver (not included).
Grounding Steps:
- Verify the switch power is off.
- Attach the terminal lug ring of the grounding cable to the switch's ground screw opening using the ground screw.
- Attach the other end of the grounding cable's terminal lug ring to an appropriate grounding stud or bolt on the rack.
- Verify that connections at the switch's ground connector and the rack are secure.
Plugging in the AC Power Cord
Connect one end of the AC power cord to the switch's power socket and the other end to a grounded and surge-protected electrical outlet.
Power Failure
In case of a power failure, unplug the power cord from the switch as a precaution. After power is restored, plug the cord back in.
