Nextech LA9038 4G GPS Vehicle Tracker User Manual

Introduction

Welcome to the Nextech LA9038 4G GPS tracker. This device features GPS, 2G GSM, 3G WCDMA, and 4G LTE modules, offering functions such as a built-in rechargeable battery for power down and removal alarms, remote engine cutoff, history tracking playback, and SMS location with Google Maps links. It includes a sensitive shock sensor for power saving and auto-configures APN and Internet settings for easy installation and use. The working voltage range is 7-40V, suitable for cars (12V) and trucks/buses (24V).

The tracker transmits real-time location data to an internet server. Users can access this data via the website www.nextechgps.com using their username and password. The default username is the last 7 digits of the tracker's ID, and the password can be the same username or '123456'. The platform service is generally free, but users should confirm the expiration date of any service charges.

Dedicated iOS and Android apps are available for locating the tracker and viewing history. This GPS tracker is ideal for car alarms, fleet management, and driver management, applicable to cars, company vehicles, buses, taxis, and trucks.

Product Overview

The LA9038 unit includes an ON/OFF switch, LED indicator, SIM card socket, GPS antenna, Wire Harness, and an SOS button.

Product Specification

System LED Indicator

Before Using

1. Power On / Off

Open the SIM card room cover, slide the switch to the ON position. The tracker powers on, indicated by a flashing Green LED. A Green LED flash every 4 seconds signifies normal operation. Refer to the LED indicator details for specific status.

2. Install SIM Card (Micro SIM Card)

Use a 2G/3G/4G Micro SIM card. Open the SIM card room cover, slide the metal cover to 'OPEN', insert the SIM card correctly, then slide the cover to 'LOCK'.

Note: Ensure the SIM card has data service enabled. Some SIM cards require an SMS or USSD command to activate internet service. A data package of 20-30MB per month is recommended.

3. Installation

The tracker requires a constant 9-40V DC power supply from the car battery. When the backup battery is full, recharging stops. In stationary mode, the tracker enters power-saving mode (GPS off, internet offline). When movement is detected, it wakes up to normal working mode.

Wire Harness Connections:

Caution: Remotely turning off the engine while the car is in motion is dangerous. It is recommended to connect the relay to the start motor wire to prevent the engine from being turned off remotely.

Installation Location: Install the tracker in a hidden location (e.g., under a seat, in the armrest box, under the rear window) where it can receive GPS and 2/3/4G signals. The GPS antenna should face the sky. Test location accuracy after installation.

Internet Vising APN & User Name and Password

To enable internet access for location uploading, set the APN, username, and password via SMS commands. Obtain these details from your SIM card supplier. Commands include:

Note: If using an M2M SIM card without SMS service, use a normal SIM card to set these parameters first, then switch back to the M2M card.

Back Up Battery & Power Down Alarm

When the tracker's power supply is off or voltage is too low, it sends a power down alarm SMS to authorized numbers, indicating potential removal or power loss.

Using Condition

Simply Using Step

  1. Purchase a 2G GSM / 3G WCDMA / 4G LTE SIM card with data service enabled.
