ASSA ABLOY 690F & 691F Electric Trim Door Preparation
This document provides essential notes and specifications for preparing wood or composite doors for the installation of ASSA ABLOY 690F and 691F Electric Trim exit devices, compatible with the 7000(F), 6000(F), and 2100(F) Series SquareBolt®, Rim, and Surface Vertical Rod devices.
General Notes
- This template is an addition to the device template. Locate centerlines using horizontal and vertical references on the device template.
- Do not scale the drawing.
- Dimensions are provided in inches (mm).
- The left-hand reverse (LHR) door is shown; preparation is typical for both door hands.
- Ensure adequate structural support is provided to maintain door integrity during operation.
- Prepare mounting holes when installing trim.
- Dimensions given about a centerline are symmetrical.
- Unspecified radius is a maximum of 1/8.
Specific Series Notes
- 7000 Series: A wire access hole must be prepared if a wire raceway is not provided in the door (the device will be used as the raceway).
- 2100(F) and 6000(F) Series: A wire raceway MUST be provided in the door. Do not prepare a wire access hole.
Note: The lever design prefix does not affect door preparation.
Responsibility
Door and frame manufacturers are responsible for providing adequate construction or reinforcements for the proper installation of the hardware shown. Diagram Description: Section X-X
This is a cross-section view of a door showing the placement of hardware. Key dimensions include:
- 1/2 (12.7) Dia.: Diameter of a hole through the door.
- 1-1/4 (32): Dimension indicating the depth or width.
Diagram Description: Vertical Reference and Trim Centerline
This view shows the layout on the outside face of the door, indicating vertical and horizontal references. Key dimensions and features include:
- Vertical Reference (Trim Centerline): A central vertical line for alignment.
- 1-3/8 (34.9): Distance from the edge or reference line.
- 1/4 (6.4) Max. (4 Places): Maximum depth for four locations.
- 1/2 (12.7): A specific dimension, likely for hole placement.
- 2-1/4 (58): A significant dimension, possibly the cutout width.
- 1-1/8 Radius (28.6): A radius measurement for a curved edge.
- 11/16 (17.5): A dimension indicating hole placement.
- Wire access hole (LHR door): Location for wire access on the left-hand reverse door.
- Wire access hole (RHR door): Location for wire access on the right-hand reverse door.
- Cutout (Outside Face): The area to be cut out on the exterior of the door.
- Horizontal Reference (Device and Trim Centerline): A central horizontal line for alignment.
- 3-5/8 (92): Repeated dimension indicating spacing.
- 3/4 (19): Another dimension for precise placement.
- 7/16 (11.1): Dimension for hole placement.
