This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the Bestway SaluSpa HydroJet and HydroJet Pro inflatable hot tubs.
Important Safety Instructions
Always follow basic safety precautions when using this electrical equipment. Read and follow all instructions carefully.
- WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, do not permit children to use this product unless closely supervised.
- Ensure proper grounding of the unit. Use a grounded, grounding-type receptacle only.
- The GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) must be tested before each use.
- DANGER: Extreme caution must be exercised to prevent unauthorized access by children to avoid accidental drowning.
- DANGER: Ensure suction fittings are compatible with the pump's flow rate. Never operate the spa if suction fittings are broken or missing.
- Install at least 5 feet (1.5m) from all metal surfaces.
- Do not permit any electric appliance within 5 feet (1.5m) of a spa.
- WARNING: To avoid electric shock, do not use the spa when it is raining.
- WARNING: Always attach a spa cover after each use to prevent children from accessing it.
- WARNING: Never add water that is higher than 40°C (104°F) into the spa.
- Consult your physician for recommendations, especially if pregnant, diabetic, or have pre-existing health conditions.
- CAUTION: Do not set up or leave the spa in temperatures lower than 4°C (40°F).
- CAUTION: Do not use the spa alone.
- CAUTION: Enter and exit the spa slowly and cautiously.
- CAUTION: Never operate the pump unless the spa is filled with water.
- CAUTION: Immediately leave the spa if you feel uncomfortable or sleepy.
FCC Compliance: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules.

Assembly
GFCI Test
Follow these steps to test the GFCI plug:
- Plug the GFCI into a power outlet; the indicator turns red.
- Press the test button; the indicator turns off.
- Press the reset button; the indicator turns red.
- Press the "On/Off" button for 2 seconds; your pump is ready to use.
WARNING: The GFCI plug must be tested before each use.
WARNING: Ensure the power outlet's current rating is suitable for the pump.
Air Valve Check
Ensure there are no air leaks from the air valve before inflation. If loose, use the provided wrench to fasten the air valve clockwise.
- NOTE: Do not over tighten.
- NOTE: Do not adjust the air valve connector when the spa is in use.
Operation
Control Panel Functions
- Lock/Unlock Button: Press and hold for 3 seconds to lock or unlock the control panel.
- Lay-Z-Massage System Button (Hydro-Jet Pro only): Activates the massage system (30-minute auto-shutoff). The indicator light is red when activated. Do not run with the cover attached.
- HydroJet System Button: Turns the water pump on and off (1-hour auto-shutoff). The indicator light is red when activated. Do not dry run.
- Heat Button: Activates the heating system. Red light indicates heating; green light indicates the water is at the set temperature. The filtration system automatically starts when heating is activated.
- Water Filter Button: Turns the filter pump on and off. The indicator light is red when activated.
- Power-Saving Timer Button: Allows setting heating duration (1-48 hours) and activation time (0-99 hours from now).
- Celsius/Fahrenheit Toggle: Switches temperature display between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
- Temperature Adjustment Buttons: Adjusts the desired temperature (20°C to 40°C / 68°F to 104°F).
- On/Off Button: Press for 2 seconds to activate/deactivate the control panel.
Alarms
The control panel may display alarm codes indicating specific issues. Refer to the manual for a detailed list of alarms, causes, reasons, and solutions.
Maintenance
- Electric Air Pump Maintenance: Clean with a dry cloth. Store in a cool, dry place.
- Filter Cartridge Maintenance: Clean filter cartridges daily. Replace weekly.
- Water Maintenance: Maintain proper water chemistry using chemical tablets or liquid. Test pH, Total Alkalinity, and Free Chlorine regularly. Follow chemical manufacturer's instructions.
- Jet Nozzle Maintenance: Twist to remove, clean debris, and twist back to reinsert.
Draining the Spa
Follow the illustrated steps for draining the spa. Ensure the spa and pump are completely dry before storing to prevent damage.
Cleaning the Spa
Use soap and water to clean spa walls. Rinse thoroughly. Do not use hard brushes or abrasive cleaners.
Deflation
Follow the illustrated steps for deflating the spa.
Spa Repair
- Inflatable Cover/Spa Liner: Use the provided heavy-duty repair patch for tears or punctures. Clean the area, peel and press the patch firmly. Wait 30 minutes before inflation.
Troubleshooting
Refer to the troubleshooting table for common problems and their solutions, including issues with the pump, heating, massage system, water clarity, GFCI, control panel, and adapter leaks.
SaluSpa Storage
Ensure the spa and pump are completely dry before storing. Store in its original package in a warm, dry place. Plastic can become brittle in sub-zero temperatures, which can cause damage.
Disposal
Dispose of electrical appliances according to local regulations. Do not dispose of in unsorted municipal waste.
Limited Bestway® Manufacturer's Warranty
Bestway® offers a limited warranty on its products:
- 360 days for the heater pump from the original date of purchase.
- 180 days for the pool liner from the original date of purchase.
- 30 days for hoses, fittings, and accessories from the original date of purchase.
To enact a warranty claim, complete the provided form and supply a copy of your receipt/purchase to your local Bestway After Sales Center. Bestway is not responsible for economic loss due to water or chemical costs. The warranty does not cover damages caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, improper installation, or storage.
Required Information for Warranty Claim: Fill out the form with your SPA name, purchase date, customer code, and shipping address details. Include batch numbers and item codes if available.
