Quick Start Guide
Getting Started
Thank you for choosing the Orbic SPEED X® 5G Hotspot. The device's 5G capabilities offer a secure, reliable Wi-Fi connection whether you are working from home or traveling. This guide provides the basic operations of your mobile hotspot.
Device Overview
The device is a compact, black mobile hotspot. The top view shows a touchscreen display and several labeled ports and buttons. The bottom view shows the battery cover and a '5G' logo.
Touchscreen Display
The touchscreen shows network status (5G, 100% battery, data usage), Wi-Fi status (ON/OFF), connection details (Primary-1, Guest), and options like 'Help' and 'Menu'.

Note: The 1Gbps Ethernet port is disabled by default to extend battery life. To enable it, select 'Enable Ethernet Port' from Menu > Settings on the touchscreen, or Settings > Preferences on the Admin web UI.

Setting Up Your 5G Hotspot
Pre-installed 5G SIM
For optimal functionality of your new device, please use the pre-installed SIM card.
Turning Your Hotspot ON/OFF
Important: Before you use your hotspot, charge the battery for at least four hours to ensure fully charged.
- Press and hold the Power button for three seconds to power on.
- To turn it off, press and hold the Power button for three seconds until you see the Powering Off screen. Then select Shutdown and tap OK.
- Press and release the Power button to wake up the display.
Finding Wi-Fi Name and Password
Tap 'Wi-Fi Name/Password' on the Home screen.
The touchscreen displays network status, data usage, and connection information. Icons for Wi-Fi ON, Guest network, Help, and Menu are visible.
Connecting to the Internet
On your Wi-Fi capable device, open the list of available Wi-Fi networks. Select the hotspot primary or guest network and enter the password.
Managing Wi-Fi Networks and Connections
Your 5G hotspot has two Wi-Fi networks, primary and guest, and lets you connect up to 32 Wi-Fi capable devices. For added security, share your guest network instead of your primary network.
The guest network is off by default. You can turn it on from either the touchscreen or the Admin web UI by assigning it a band in Wi-Fi > Settings > Band Selection (see Accessing advanced settings).
Accessing Advanced Settings
You can access advanced settings and manage your hotspot from the Admin web UI:
- Connect your device to the primary network (see Connecting to the internet).
- Open a web browser on your connected device and enter http://my.mobilehotspot or http://192.168.1.1
- Sign in with the Admin password. When you first get your 5G hotspot, this is the same as your primary network's password (see Finding the Wi-Fi name and password).
Monitoring Data Usage
You can monitor your hotspot data usage and set up usage alerts through your My Verizon account at verizon.com/MyVerizon. You can also see current usage details on the Home screen of your hotspot, or by tapping Menu > Data Usage.
Resetting Your Hotspot
You can reset your 5G hotspot to factory settings from the touchscreen or from the Admin web UI.
Note: Resetting your hotspot will disconnect devices and reset network names and passwords. To reset using the reset hole:
- Make sure your hotspot is on.
- Remove the battery cover from the back of your hotspot.
- Insert an unfolded paper clip into the Reset hole and press until the hotspot screen shows 'Resetting'.

Any device with Wi-Fi capability and an internet browser. Your 5G hotspot is compatible with all major operating systems.
