Use the battery and charger only for their intended purpose. Improper use or the use of unapproved or incompatible batteries or chargers may cause fire, explosion, or other hazards and may void any approvals and warranties. If you believe the battery or charger is damaged, take it to a service center or your phone's dealer before further use. Never use a damaged battery or charger. Use the charger only indoors. Do not charge the device when there is lightning outdoors.

Small children

Your device and its accessories are not toys. They may contain small parts. Keep them out of reach of small children.

Nickel

The surface of this device does not contain nickel.

Medical devices

Radio-emitting devices, including wireless phones, can interfere with inadequately shielded medical devices. Consult your doctor or the medical device manufacturer to determine if it is adequately shielded from external radio frequency energy.

Implanted medical devices

To avoid potential interference, manufacturers of implanted medical devices (such as pacemakers, insulin pumps, and neurostimulators) recommend that a minimum separation of 15.3 cm (6 inches) be maintained between a wireless device and the implanted medical device. Individuals with such devices should:

  • always keep the wireless device more than 15.3 centimeters (6 inches) away from the medical device,
  • not carry the wireless device in a breast pocket,
  • hold the wireless device to the ear on the opposite side of the medical device,
  • turn off the wireless device if there is any reason to suspect that interference is occurring,
  • follow the implanted medical device manufacturer's instructions.

If you have questions about using your wireless device with an implanted medical device, consult your healthcare provider.

Hearing aids

  • Install antivirus and other security software on any connected computer.
  • If you follow pre-installed tags and links to third-party websites, take appropriate security measures. HMD Global does not endorse these websites and assumes no responsibility for them.

Vehicles

Radio signals may affect improperly installed or inadequately shielded electronic systems in vehicles. For more information, contact the vehicle or its equipment manufacturer. Only authorized specialists should install the device in a vehicle. Improper installation may cause danger and void the warranty. Regularly check that all wireless equipment installed in the vehicle is securely attached and functioning properly. Do not store or transport flammable or explosive materials in the same compartment as the device, its parts, or accessories. Do not place the device or its accessories in the area of an airbag deployment.

Potentially explosive atmospheres

Turn off the device in potentially explosive atmospheres, such as near gasoline pumps. Sparks can cause an explosion or fire, resulting in serious or fatal injuries. In areas with fuel, chemical plants, or where blasting operations are carried out, follow applicable restrictions. Potentially explosive atmospheres may not be clearly marked. These are typically areas where the engine of a vehicle is recommended to be turned off, below deck in passenger compartments, in chemical transfer or storage areas, and in areas where the air contains chemicals or particles. Inquire with manufacturers of vehicles that use liquefied gas (e.g., propane or butane) to determine if this device can be safely used in their environment.

Certification information

This mobile device complies with radio wave exposure recommendations.

Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic fields recommended by the independent scientific organization ICNIRP in its international guidelines. These guidelines provide important safety instructions to ensure the protection of all persons, regardless of age and health status. The exposure guidelines specify the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which is the relative absorption rate of radio frequency (RF) power in the head and body when the device transmits a signal. According to ICNIRP mobile device requirements, the average SAR for 10 g of tissue must not exceed 2.0 W/kg.

SAR tests are performed under standard operating conditions when the device transmits at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands.

This device complies with RF exposure recommendations when used against the head or at a distance of at least 1.5 centimeters from the body. The holster, belt clip, or other device holder used for body-worn operation should not contain metal, and should position the device at least the previously specified separation distance from the body. Non-compliance with these requirements may violate RF exposure guidelines. For data or message transmission, a good network connection is required. Transmission may be delayed until a connection is established. Until transmission is complete, maintain the specified separation distance.

Under normal use, the SAR value is usually much lower than that indicated above. This is because the mobile device's operating power is automatically reduced when a connection is established to ensure system efficiency and minimize network interference. The lower the power, the lower the SAR value.

Different models may have different versions and several values. The design may change over time, and some changes may affect SAR values. For more information, see www.sar-tick.com. Note that the mobile device may transmit signals even when you are not using voice communication.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that current scientific information does not indicate the need for any special precautions when using mobile devices. If you are concerned about reducing exposure, it is recommended to limit your usage or use a hands-free accessory to keep the device away from your head and body. For more information and explanations, and for discussions about RF exposure, visit the WHO website at www.who.int/health-topics/electromagnetic-fields#tab=tab_1.

The highest SAR value for the device can be found at www.hmd.com/sar.

Digital rights management

When using this device, do not infringe on laws or local customs and respect the privacy and rights of others, including copyright. Copying, modifying, or transmitting some photos, music, and other content may be prohibited by copyright protection.
