Usage Instructions
Installing the Die
Insert the corresponding die into the groove of the die head. Note the following points: Dies are configured in sets and must be used as a complete set. If one die is damaged, the other three must be replaced simultaneously to avoid affecting thread chasing quality.
Note: When the die is inserted into the die groove to the correct depth, its locking notch will engage with the chuck locking key. Turn the curve disc to correctly position the die.
Removing the Die
- Loosen the handle nut of the die head, move it to the farthest end, and tighten it slightly.
- Move the profiling block on the right side until the roller of the die head contacts the bottom plate (datum plane). The die can then be taken out.
Precautions for Thread Chasing
When the die contacts the pipe, gradually increase the force applied to rotate the carriage hand wheel until the die bites into the pipe for 3 to 4 turns. Applying slightly more force on the carriage handle can ensure synchronous movement with the die head for optimal thread chasing quality. Threads must be chased in two steps.
Thread Chasing
- Lift the cutter frame and chamfering frame to clear the position. Lower the opening die head to contact the profiling block (inclined block). When the die head is reliably positioned, press the button to start the machine.
- Rotate the pipe counterclockwise, then turn the carriage hand wheel to approach the pipe with the die head. Before starting, adjust the amount of cooling lubricating oil (rotate the oil volume adjusting screw below the carriage).
- Release the carriage hand wheel. The machine will start automatic thread chasing. When the rollers of the die head pass over the profiling block and drop down, the dies will open automatically, completing the thread chasing process.
- Stop the machine and retract the carriage until the entire die head is withdrawn from the end of the pipe. Pull out the locking handle of the die head and lift up the die head simultaneously.
Diagrams
Scale Indication and Handle
Diagram illustrating the threader head components: a scale indication line, a handle nut, and a scale numbered from 0 to 4. The scale indicates depth or setting for the die.
Pipe Threading Mechanism
Diagram illustrating the pipe threading process. It shows a pipe being engaged by a die. A 'Hammering Disc' is indicated, suggesting the mechanism that drives the dies.
