Valberg Indoor Electrical BBQ - Safety and Regulatory Information

This document provides essential safety, regulatory, and disposal guidelines for your Valberg Indoor Electrical BBQ.

Safety Instructions

Please read these instructions carefully before using the unit and keep them for future reference.

  • Refer to the unit's instructions for use for cleaning and maintenance details.
  • Install the unit as specified in its instructions for use.
  • The power plug must remain accessible, or a switch must be installed in the fixed wiring, to allow disconnection from the mains supply at all times.
  • If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its after-sales service, or a similarly qualified person to prevent risks.
  • For details on cleaning surfaces that come into contact with food, please refer to the instructions for use.
  • This unit may be used by children aged 8 years and above, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities, or lack of experience and knowledge, provided they are supervised or have received prior instruction on safe use and understand the risks. Children should not play with the unit. User cleaning and maintenance operations must not be performed by children unless they are over 8 years old and supervised.
  • Keep the unit and its cable out of the reach of children under the age of 8.
  • If the [Warning Symbol] symbol is marked on the unit: CAUTION: Hot surface. Surfaces are likely to become hot during use.
  • CAUTION: Do not use charcoal or a similar fuel with this unit.

General Warnings and Usage Guidelines

  • For barbecues intended for use with water: Refer to the instructions for use for the maximum quantity of water that can be poured into the unit.
  • The unit is not designed for operation with an external timer or a separate remote control system.
  • This unit is intended for household use only. It is not suitable for use in similar applications such as staff kitchens in shops, offices, work environments, farms, hotels, motels, residential-type environments, B&Bs, catering, or similar non-retail applications.
  • Remove all packaging before installation.
  • WARNING: Keep packaging materials and accessories out of the reach of children. Never allow children to play with packaging or accessories.
  • Check that the voltage indicated on the nameplate corresponds to your home's voltage.
  • Under no circumstances should the housing be opened. Do not insert fingers or foreign objects into the unit's openings, and do not block air vents.
  • DANGER: Never use the unit outdoors unless otherwise specified.
  • DANGER: Do not connect the unit to the mains with wet hands; you risk receiving an electric shock.
  • The power cable should be arranged so it does not touch any hot parts of the hob or nearby appliances.
  • The unit must not be connected via an extension cord or multi-socket.
  • CAUTION: Do not bend, crush, or jam the power cable behind the unit.
  • Leave enough space behind the unit to avoid direct contact with the mains socket.
  • CAUTION: This unit must not be powered by an external switch, timer, separate remote control, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on/off by the electricity supplier.
  • Never disassemble or modify the unit.
  • Any thorough cleaning and/or maintenance operation must be carried out with the unit's power plug unplugged or after the power supply has been cut off.
  • Should a malfunction occur that cannot be resolved by the information provided in the unit's instructions for use, please contact the after-sales service.

Symbols Explained

CEThis marking indicates that the unit complies with European regulations.
[WEEE Recycling Symbol]This logo affixed to the product indicates that its recycling falls within the scope of Directive 2012/19/EU. At the end of its service life, it should not be disposed of with household waste but taken to a local recycling centre. Recycling helps protect our environment.
[AC Voltage Symbol]This symbol indicates alternating current (AC) voltage.
[Class 2 Equipment Symbol]Symbol for Class 2 equipment (IEC 60417-5172). The unit has double or reinforced insulation with no accessible metal parts. Class 2 equipment sockets are not earthed.
[Warning Symbol]WARNING: Hot surface. This symbol indicates a very hot area of the product where there is a risk of burns should contact be made.

Warranty and Repair

  • WARNING: Defects and their consequences resulting from interventions and/or product repairs carried out by the user or a non-professional third party will not be covered by the legal or commercial warranty.
  • CAUTION: Any intervention and/or product repair carried out by the user or a non-professional third party may endanger the safety of persons and property.
  • WARNING: The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for damage occurring during home repairs, especially if related to user clumsiness or failure to comply with repair instructions.
  • DANGER: Before carrying out any operations, please disconnect the unit from all its power sources (electricity, water, etc.).

Disposing of Your Old Unit

Follow these regulations to reduce the environmental impact of your purchase.

  • You are legally responsible for separating waste for recycling, including accessories, instructions, and packaging.
  • Electrical or electronic devices must not be sorted or recycled with other household waste.
  • Never leave used products and packaging materials within the reach of children, as they pose risks.
  • Keep instructions throughout the unit's service life and include them when passing the unit to a third party.
