Important Safety Warnings
Please read all instructions before use.
General Safety Precautions
- Do not use the pizza oven in a confined and/or habitable space (e.g., houses, tents, caravans, motor homes, boats) due to the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning fatality.
- This pizza oven becomes very hot during operation.
- It is recommended to wear gloves when operating the Ooni Karu 2 Pro to avoid risk of burns.
- Do not move the oven during operation.
- Do not use the oven indoors.
- Keep children and pets away from the oven.
- Do not use spirit or petrol for lighting or re-lighting. Use only firelighters complying to EN 1860-3.
- Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash.
- The pizza oven must be heated up and the fuel kept red hot for at least 30 minutes prior to the first cooking.
- Do not use the chimney cap when the oven is lit.
- Only use the oven in an appropriate outdoor environment, well away from flammable materials.
- Never leave the oven unattended.
- Do not remove the door whilst the oven is lit.
- Ensure the Draft Defender Plate is fully secured to the oven prior to use.
- Do not use Ooni Karu 2 Pro with non-compatible gas burners.
- There may be sharp edges on the interior and exterior of the oven. Handle with care.
- The door is hot during use; take care when launching or retrieving pizza from the oven.
- Allow the oven to fully cool down after use. Some areas may still be hot even when the body feels cool to the touch.
- Always use on a flat, stable, non-flammable surface.

Lighting Instructions
The Ooni Karu 2 Pro comes with a fuel tray for wood and charcoal. Use only charcoal suitable for cooking. Do not cook food until the fuel has a coating of ash. When cooking with wood, use pieces of dry, non-treated hardwood (up to 23 cm / 9" long and 7.5 cm / 3" in diameter) in the burner. Add no more than 0.5kg (1.1lb) of fuel at one time, and ensure there is no more than 1kg (2.2lb) in the tray at one time.
To Extinguish
Let the fire burn down naturally and allow the Ooni Karu 2 Pro to cool. Do not remove the ashes until the oven has cooled completely. Ensure all embers are extinguished before storing.
