Ooni Karu 12G Pizza Oven: Assembly Instructions & Safety Manual
Important Safety Warnings
- Do not use the pizza oven in a confined and/or habitable space e.g. houses, tents, caravans, motor homes, boats. Danger of carbon monoxide poisoning fatality.
- This pizza oven will become very hot.
- Do not move it during operation.
- Do not use indoors.
- Keep children and pets away.
- Do not use spirit or petrol for lighting or re-lighting. Use only firelighters complying to EN 1860-3.
- Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash.
- The pizza oven shall be heated up and the fuel kept red hot for at least 30 minutes prior to the first cooking.
- Do not use chimney cap when oven is lit.
- Only use oven in appropriate outdoor environment well away from flammable materials.
- Never leave oven unattended.
- Do not remove door whilst oven is lit.
- Ensure draft plate is fully secured to oven prior to use.
- Do not use Ooni Karu 12G with non-compatible gas burners.
- There may be sharp edges on the interior and exterior of the oven. Please handle with care.
- Door is hot during use, take care when launching or retrieving pizza from oven.
- Allow oven to fully cool down after use, some areas of oven may still be hot when body is cool to touch.
- Always use on a flat, stable, non-flammable surface.
- Product contains a strong magnet. Keep away from children.

Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble your Ooni Karu 12G pizza oven:
- Chimney Attachment: Secure the chimney (h) and chimney cap (i) to the designated opening at the top of the main body (a).
- Fuel Tray Setup: Place the fuel grate (c) inside the fuel tray (b). Then, insert the assembled fuel tray (b) and grate (c) into the lower compartment of the main body (a).
- Draft Defender Plate: Attach the draft defender plate (g) to the rear of the main body (a).
- Door Installation: Attach the oven door (e) to the front of the main body (a). This involves aligning the door's hinge with the main body's hinge point, inserting the hinge pin (k), and securing the door with screws (l and n), potentially using the DoorPlate (m) as part of the fastening mechanism.
Lighting Instructions
The Ooni Karu 12G uses a fuel tray for wood and charcoal. Use only charcoal suitable for cooking. When cooking with wood, use pieces of dry, non-treated hardwood (up to 15cm / 5.9 inches long and 4cm / 1.5 inches in diameter) in the burner.
Fueling: Add no more than 0.4kg (approx. 0.9lb) of fuel at one time and ensure there is no more than 0.5kg (approx. 1.1lb) in the tray at any time.
Preheating: The pizza oven must be heated up and the fuel kept red hot for at least 30 minutes prior to the first cooking. Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash.

Extinguishing the Oven
To extinguish the oven:
- Let the fire burn down naturally.
- Allow the Ooni Karu 12G to cool down completely.
- Do not remove ashes until the oven has cooled completely.
- Ensure all embers are extinguished before storing the oven.
