GETTING TO KNOW YOUR RC VEHICLE
GETTING TO KNOW YOUR 2.4GHZ TRANSMITTER
1) Steering Wheel, 2) Throttle Trigger, 3) Battery Compartment, 4) Steering Trim, 5) Steering Direction Reverse, 6) Power Indicator (Red), 7) ON/OFF Power Switch, 8) Steering D/R, 9) Speed Selection, 10) Throttle Forward/backward Reverse, 11) Power Indicator (Green), 12) Bind/Mode Button
Slide and remove the battery cover from the transmitter, install three AA size batteries (1.5V, each), and replace the battery cover. Do not reverse the polarities when installing. Always use batteries of same brand and remove batteries when not in use. Make sure battery power is sufficient before use.
Power Indicators (Red/Green):
The lights indicate the current status of the transmitter batteries. When both power indicator lights are illuminated, the batteries have sufficient capacity to power the transmitter safely. If the green power indicator light begins to flash, the batteries are loosing power and should be replaced soon. If both power indicator lights begin to flash, the batteries have only limited capacity to power the transmitter. In this case, the batteries should be replaced as soon as is safely possible.
Brushless ESC/Receiver
Power Switch: Press and hold for 2-3 seconds to switch on or off.
- 1) Power Indicator
- 2) Servo Slot (3-pin) (for 3-wire Servo)
- 3) Aux. Slot (for LED light if it contains LED)
- 4) For Motor Plugs
Always straighten the antenna for the best performance. DO NOT USE THE TRANSMITTER WITH LOW BATTERY POWER.
RUNNING YOUR CAR
1. TURNING ON THE RECEIVER OF YOUR CAR
The power switch is located on the esc/receiver unit. Press and hold the power switch for 2-3 seconds until the LED on the ESC (or headlight LED if fitted) blinks. It will be a few seconds before the LEDs stop blinking and become solid.
2. TURN ON THE RADIO CONTROLLER
Switch on the power switch on the radio controller. Your radio is bound with your car automatically.
3. CHECK STEERING PERFORMANCE
- To keep the car running straight, keep the steering wheel centered.
- Turn the steering wheel to the right to allow the car to right.
- Turn the steering wheel to the left to allow the car to turn to the left.
4. CHECK TRIGGER RESPONSE
A. Pull the trigger back to accelerate, release it to decelerate.
B. To stop running your car, release the trigger to neutral.
C. Pushing the trigger forward activates reverse.
PLEASE NOTE: THE MODEL SWITCHES BETWEEN FORWARD AND REVERSE INSTANTLY FOR SLOW SPEED MANOEUVRABILITY. EXCESSIVE USE OF THIS FEATURE CAN CAUSE TRANSMISSION AND ESC DAMAGE.
5) Steering Trim Knob:
Left Knob. Used to set the steering neutral point on front wheels. If the front wheels on the vehicle veer in one direction while the steering wheel is centered, turn this knob in the opposite direction until the vehicle drives straight.
6) Speed Knob:
Right Knob. The Speed Switch is actually the throttle limiter. Turning down the knob all the way will reduce the maximum speed down to 40% of maximum speed. Turning up the knob will increase max speed up to 100%. It is advisable to operate the vehicle on the slower setting until you have had enough practice before operating at higher speeds.
7) Steering Direction Reverse Switch:
If the vehicle turns right when you steer left, flip "Steering Reverse" switch. If the vehicle turns left when you steer right, flip "Steering Reverse" switch.
8) Throttle Forward/backward Reverse Switch:
If the vehicle goes backwards when you pull the trigger, flip this switch. If the vehicle goes forwards when you push the trigger, flip this switch.
9) Steering Dual Rate (D/R) knob:
The steering dual rate knob allows you to change the amount of steering servo travel compared to the amount of physical movement of the steering wheel. The amount that you increase the steering dual rate is proportional with how much you move the steering dual rate knob. Adjustments can be made while driving. Increasing the steering dual rate (clockwise) makes the steering servo travel more, potentially preventing the vehicle from pushing during turns. Reducing the steering dual rate (counter-clockwise) makes the steering servo travel less, potentially reducing the amount of turn in in the corners.
CHARGING
8) CHARGING PROCESS
This USB charger is designed for charging 2S (7.4V) Li-ion or Li-Po battery packs. Specification: Input DC 5V, 2A; Output: 7.4V=Max. 1.3A.
Please follow the instructions for charging the battery. Remove the battery from the model and connect the pack to the white battery connector, with the USB connected to your power source.
Red LED (Power LED): Solid when the charger is connected to a power source (even if no battery is connected).
During charging, the Red LED remains solid and the Green LED (Charging LED) flashes slowly.
Green LED becomes solid when the battery pack is fully charged.
Alarm Indication: Red LED flashes rapidly, indicating the battery pack is damaged or over-discharged and cannot be charged. Replace the battery if this occurs.
Charging: Green LED flashes slowly.
Malfunction: Red LED flashes rapidly.
Battery pack fully charged: Both Red and Green LEDs are solid.
9 NOTES ON BATTERY USE
- Always allow the battery to cool after use before recharging.
- Always inspect the battery before charging. Any bare wires, split heat shrink, or leakage indicates abuse.
- Never attempt to charge dead or damaged batteries.
- Do not disassemble the battery or cut the connector wires.
- If the battery connector becomes hot enough to melt, there is likely a serious problem with your model, driveline, battery wires, or speed controller. Find and correct the problem before installing another charged battery pack.
- NEVER charge the battery unattended. Monitor the battery during charging to prevent overcharging.
- Charge the battery away from flammable objects and on a non-flammable surface in case it becomes too hot.
(Note: Your model is already bound from the factory)
Getting Started
Switch on the transmitter. Hold the vehicle clear of the ground, connect the battery pack, and switch on the receiver. Bind the Transmitter and receiver if required.
Test the transmitter to check control of the vehicle with wheels off the ground. Start driving slowly. If the vehicle does not go straight, adjust the steering trim dial on the Transmitter. For the very first run, use the throttle gently to gradually bed in the motor brushes and help the driver become accustomed to the vehicle's behavior and controls.
PLEASE NOTE:
Although the electronics are waterproof, the rest of the car can be subjected to damage if running in excessively wet or submerged conditions.
After Run:
Switch off the receiver power, switch off the transmitter, and lower the aerial. Disconnect the battery and remove it from the vehicle. Allow it to cool before recharging. If you have a second charged battery ready, allow the vehicle to cool slightly before installing the second battery.
