General Description
In-Wall Diverters feature rotational control to alternate water flow between two (R422/R422S) or three (R433/R433S) different shower outlets, such as a showerhead, handspray, body side spray, or tub spout. The valve body is forged brass. The mixed water inlet and outlets are marked on the back of the valve body. Connections are 1/2" NPT for the mixed water inlet and the outlets. The escutcheon is stamped brass. The tub port is designed for increased water flow.

Important Note
This valve cannot be used as a shut-off valve.
Diagram and Dimensions
A diagram illustrates the in-wall installation of the diverter valve. It shows dimensions for the finished wall, lever handle, and cross handle trim kits, as well as the rough valve body. Key dimensions include the trim kit depth (3-1/16 inches / 76 mm), handle height (3-5/16 inches / 84 mm), and rough valve body width (4-7/8 inches / 123 mm). The diagram also indicates 1/2" NPT inlets and outlets for the rough valve body.
Flow Rate Performance
Flow rate charts are provided for different valve models (R422, R422S, R433, R433S). These charts plot Gallons Per Minute (GPM) against Inlet Pressure (PSI). For each model, they show the flow rates for various outlet configurations, such as 'Port A', 'Tub Port', 'Port A/B', and combinations like 'Tub Port + Port A'. These charts help visualize water output under different pressure conditions.

Suggested Specification
Two (or three) way diverter shall feature a forged brass body with 1/2" NPT mixed water inlet and outlets. Fitting shall be American Standard Model # T05243_.___ (Diverter Valve Trim) and R4___. (Rough Valve Body).
