Features and Basic Operation

This guide provides instructions for operating your Timex watch. Key features include:

The watch features several buttons for operation:

Time Setting

To set the time and date:

  1. From the Time of Day mode, press and hold RESET. The watch will beep, and the seconds will flash.
  2. Press ST/STP to set the seconds to zero.
  3. Press MODE to set the Hours. Press ST/STP to advance the Hours setting. Hold to increment quickly.
  4. Press MODE to set the Minutes. Press ST/STP to advance the Minutes setting. Hold to increment quickly.
  5. Press MODE to set the Year. Press ST/STP to advance the Year setting. Hold to increment quickly.
  6. Press MODE to set the Month. Press ST/STP to advance the Month setting. Hold to increment quickly.
  7. Press MODE to set the Date. Press ST/STP to advance the Date setting. Hold to increment quickly.
  8. Press RESET to exit Time Set mode.
  9. Press ST/STP to toggle between 12-hour (A/P indicator) and 24-hour time formats.

Stopwatch

Use this function for timing events:

  1. Press MODE until "SP" appears.
  2. Press ST/STP to start timing.
  3. While the stopwatch is running, press RESET to record a split time. The display will show the split time, but the stopwatch will continue running in the background.
  4. Press RESET to clear the display and show the current running stopwatch time.
  5. Press RESET to record another split time.
  6. Press ST/STP to pause timing.
  7. Press ST/STP to resume timing, or press RESET to reset the stopwatch to zero.

Note: If the stopwatch was paused while showing a split time, pressing ST/STP will pause the stopwatch and display the total elapsed time.

Example split times:

Countdown Timer

Use this function for timing events or tasks that have a defined end:

  1. Press MODE until "TR" appears.
  2. To set the Timer, press RESET. The Hour digit flashes.
  3. Press ST/STP to advance the Hours setting. Hold to increment quickly.
  4. Press MODE to set the Minutes. Press ST/STP to advance the Minutes setting. Hold to increment quickly.
  5. Press MODE to set the Seconds. Press ST/STP to advance the Seconds setting. Hold to increment quickly.
  6. Press RESET to exit Countdown Timer Set mode.
  7. To use the countdown timer, press ST/STP to start timing.
  8. While the timer is running, press ST/STP to pause the timer.
  9. While the timer is paused, press ST/STP to restart it or press RESET to reset the timer to its originally set duration.
  10. When the alert sounds, press any button to silence it, or it will stop automatically in about 10 seconds.

Note: Pressing RESET at the end of the countdown or to reset a paused timer will return the watch to Timer Set mode. Press RESET again to exit and return the timer to its originally set duration.

Alarm

To turn on/off or set one of the 5 daily alarms, or to turn on/off an hourly chime:

  1. Press MODE until "AL" appears.
  2. Press ST/STP to turn the hourly chime on/off (✔).
  3. Press INDIGLO® to select one of the 5 alarms.
  4. Press ST/STP to turn each alarm on/off (9).
  5. To set the Alarm, press RESET. The Hour digit flashes and the Alarm ON indicator lights up.
  6. Press ST/STP to advance the Hours setting. Hold to increment quickly.
  7. Press MODE to set the Minutes. Press ST/STP to advance the Minutes setting. Hold to increment quickly.
  8. Press RESET to exit Alarm Set mode.
  9. When the alarm sounds, press any button to silence it, or it will stop automatically in about 60 seconds.

Dual Time

To set the time for a second time zone:

  1. Press MODE until "T2" appears.
  2. Press RESET. The Hours flash. Press ST/STP to advance the Hours setting. Hold to increment quickly.
  3. Press MODE to set the Minutes. Press ST/STP to toggle between the same Minutes setting as Time Mode (T1) or a 30-minute difference.
  4. Press RESET to exit Dual Time Set mode.

Note: Hours will be displayed in the same format (12- or 24-hour) as the time setting.

INDIGLO® Night-Light

Press the INDIGLO® button to illuminate the watch display for 2-3 seconds. The electroluminescent technology used in the INDIGLO® night-light illuminates the watch face at night and in low-light conditions.

Water and Shock Resistance

If your watch is water-resistant, a meter marking or () will be indicated.

WARNING: TO MAINTAIN WATER-RESISTANCE, DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS UNDER WATER.

  1. The watch is water-resistant only as long as the lens, push buttons, and case remain intact.
  2. The watch is not a diver watch and should not be used for diving.
  3. Rinse the watch with fresh water after exposure to salt water.
  4. Shock-resistance will be indicated on the watch face or caseback. Watches are designed to pass ISO shock-resistance tests. However, care should be taken to avoid damaging the crystal/lens.

Battery

Timex strongly recommends that a retailer or jeweler replace the battery. If applicable, press the reset button when replacing the battery. The battery type is indicated on the caseback. Battery life estimates are based on certain assumptions regarding usage; battery life may vary depending on actual usage.

DO NOT DISPOSE OF BATTERY IN FIRE. DO NOT RECHARGE. KEEP LOOSE BATTERIES AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
