Timex Expedition Digital Watch User Manual

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for operating your Timex® watch. Please read carefully to understand all features. Note that your specific model may not include all features described.

Functions

The Timex Expedition Digital watch offers the following functions:

Basic Operations

The watch features several buttons for operation:

The watch face will indicate when a button's function changes during settings.

Time/Date/Hourly Chime/Time Zone

  1. In TIME mode, press and hold SET. The time zone will flash.
  2. Press + or - to select the first or second time zone.
  3. Press NEXT. The hour digits will flash.
  4. Press + or - to change the hour, including AM/PM. Scroll through 12 hours to switch between AM/PM.
  5. Press NEXT. The minute digits will flash.
  6. Press + or - to change the minutes.
  7. Press NEXT. The second digits will flash.
  8. Press + or - to set the seconds to zero.
  9. Press NEXT. The day of the week will flash.
  10. Press + or - to change the day.
  11. Continue this pattern to set the month, day of the month, 12-hour or 24-hour time display, MM.DD or M.MM date format, turn hourly CHIME on/off, and turn BEEP on/off. If BEEP is enabled, a beep will sound each time a button is pressed (except INDIGLO®).
  12. Press DONE to confirm and exit, or press NEXT to continue and set a second time zone if desired.
  13. In Time mode, press and hold START/SPLIT to "peek" at the second time zone; hold for 4 seconds to switch time zones.

Alarm

Setting the ALARM is similar to setting TIME. Your watch model has three alarms. Follow the procedure below to set each alarm:

  1. Press MODE repeatedly until ALM1, ALM2, or ALM3 appears. Select the alarm you want to set.
  2. Press SET to set the alarm.
  3. Hour digits flash. Press + or - to change the hour.
  4. Press NEXT. Minute digits flash. Press + or - to change minutes.
  5. Press NEXT. If in 12-hour format, AM/PM flashes. Press + or - to change.
  6. Press NEXT. Press + or - to select DAILY, WEEKDAYS, or WEEKENDS.
  7. Press DONE to confirm and exit.
  8. Press Start/Split or Stop/Reset to arm or disarm the alarm. When disarmed, OFF will be displayed. When armed, the alarm clock icon will appear.
  9. The INDIGLO® night-light and alarm icon flash, and an alert sounds when the alarm goes off. Press any button to silence. A backup alarm will sound after five minutes if no buttons are pressed.

Timer

  1. Press MODE repeatedly until TIMER appears.
  2. Press SET. Hour digits flash.
  3. Follow the same process as setting TIME and ALARM to set hours (up to 24 hrs.), minutes, and seconds.
  4. Select between REPEAT/AT END (timer counts down and then repeats) or STOP/AT END (timer counts down and then stops).
  5. Press DONE to confirm and exit.
  6. Press START/SPLIT to start the TIMER. The timer will continue to run even if you exit Timer mode. REPEAT/END will flash if selected. STOP/END will flash if selected.
  7. An alarm melody will chime and INDIGLO® night-light flashes when the timer reaches zero or before it starts to count down again.
  8. Press STOP/RESET to stop the TIMER. Press again to reset to the countdown time.

Chrono

  1. Press MODE until CHRONO appears.
  2. Press and hold SET.
  3. The display will read: FORMAT/SET, then LAP/SPL or SPL/LAP.
  4. Press + or - to select the desired format.
  5. Press DONE to confirm and exit.
  6. To use the chrono, press START/SPLIT. The chrono continues to run even if you exit the mode.
  7. Press STOP/RESET to stop the chronograph, OR while the chrono is running, press START/SPLIT to take a split. Lap and split times will then be displayed in the format you selected. The lap number will alternate with the last two digits of the bottom line.

NOTES:

INDIGLO® Night-Light / Night-Mode® Feature

Press the INDIGLO® button to activate the night-light. The electroluminescent technology used in the INDIGLO® night-light illuminates the entire watch face at night and in low-light conditions. While the night-light is on, pressing any button keeps it on for three seconds.

Press and hold the INDIGLO® button for 4 seconds to activate the NIGHT-MODE® feature. A moon icon will appear. Once activated, any button pushed will cause the INDIGLO® night-light to stay on for 3 seconds. The NIGHT-MODE® feature will stay activated for 8 hours or until deactivated by pressing and holding the INDIGLO® button again for 4 seconds.

Water & Shock Resistance

If your watch is water-resistant, meter marking or () is indicated.

WARNING: TO MAINTAIN WATER-RESISTANCE, DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS UNDER WATER.

  1. The watch is water-resistant only as long as the lens, push buttons, and case remain intact.
  2. The watch is not a diver watch and should not be used for diving.
  3. Rinse the watch with fresh water after exposure to salt water.
  4. Shock-resistance will be indicated on the watch face or caseback. Watches are designed to pass ISO test for shock-resistance. However, care should be taken to avoid damaging the crystal/lens.

Battery

The watch button cell or coin battery is not intended to be replaced by a consumer. Only a jeweler or other professional is to replace the battery.
