Timex W-92 Watch: Instruction Manual and Warranty Information
Thank you for purchasing your Timex watch.
Getting Started
Starting Your Watch
Important: Set the day and date first. Remove the guard from the crown and push it in. For screw-in setting crowns, turn counter-clockwise to loosen. The crown can be located at the 3 o'clock or 6 o'clock position.
Setting the Time
Pull the crown all the way out to the "OUT" position and turn it to set the correct time. Push the crown back in to restart the watch. For screw-in crowns, push the crown in while turning clockwise to tighten.
For watches with a date function: Note the correct time of day (A.M. or P.M.) to ensure proper date function.
Setting the Day
Pull the crown to the "MIDDLE" position and turn it clockwise until the correct day appears. If the day does not change, pull the crown to the "OUT" position and turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise through the necessary number of 24-hour periods until the correct day appears.
Setting the Date ("Fast Date")
3-Position Crown: Pull the crown to the "MIDDLE" position and turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise until the correct date appears.
2-Position Crown: Pull the crown to the "OUT" position and turn it clockwise until the date changes. Repeat until the correct date appears. Adjust the date manually when the month has fewer than 31 days. Push the crown in when finished.
Note: The date may need to be manually updated at the end of each month by following the above procedure. Otherwise, it will continue to 39 and then roll over to 00.
Optional Features
Rotating Time Ring
Position the symbol (▲) at the desired time to mark the start or end of an activity.
Compass Directional Ring
To get an approximate compass reading: point the hour hand at the sun. Adjust the ring so that 'S' (South) is halfway between the hour hand and the 12 o'clock position. Adjust every hour. Ensure the hour hand is always pointed towards the sun.

INDIGLO® Night-Light
Press the button or crown to activate the light. This patented electroluminescent technology illuminates the entire watch face at night and in low-light conditions.
Bracelet Adjustment
Sliding Clasp Bracelet
Open the locking plate. Move the clasp to the desired bracelet length. Exert pressure while holding the locking plate and slide the clasp back and forth until it engages in the grooves on the underside of the bracelet. Press the locking plate down until it snaps closed. Caution: The clasp can be damaged if excessive force is used.

Foldover Clasp Bracelet
Find the spring bar that connects the bracelet to the clasp. Using a pointed tool (Fig. 1), push the spring bar in and gently twist the bracelet to disengage it. Determine your wrist size, then insert the spring bar into the correct bottom hole (Fig. 2). Push down on the spring bar, align it with the top hole, and release to lock it in place (Fig. 3).

Maintenance and Technical Information
Bracelet Link Removal
For Bracelets with Pins: Place the bracelet upright and insert a pointed tool into the opening of a link. Push the pin forcefully in the direction of the arrow until the link is detached (pins are designed to be difficult to remove). Repeat until the desired number of links are removed. To reassemble, rejoin the bracelet parts and push the pin back into the link in the opposite direction of the arrow. Press the pin down securely until it is flush with the bracelet.
For Bracelets with Screws: Using a very small screwdriver, remove screws by turning counter-clockwise. Repeat until the desired number of links are removed. Do not remove links adjacent to the clasp. To reassemble, rejoin bracelet parts and insert the screw into the end of the opening where it was removed. Turn the screw clockwise until tight and flush with the bracelet.
Water and Shock Resistance
Warning: To maintain water-resistance, do not press any buttons or pull out the crown under water unless your watch is indicated as 200 meter water-resistant.
- The watch is water-resistant only as long as the crystal, crown, and case remain intact.
- The watch is not a diver's watch and should not be used for diving.
- For screw-in setting crowns and case backs, ensure they are screwed into the case to maintain water-resistance (refer to "Setting the Time"). (Optional)
- Rinse the watch with fresh water after exposure to salt water.
- Shock-resistance is indicated on the watch face or caseback. Watches are designed to pass ISO tests for shock-resistance, but avoid damaging the crystal/lens.
Water resistance ratings:
Water-Resistance Depth | Water Pressure Below Surface (p.s.i.a.*) |
---|---|
30m/98ft | 60 |
50m/164ft | 86 |
100m/328ft | 160 |
200m/656ft | 284 |

Do not dispose of the battery in fire. Do not recharge. Keep loose batteries away from children.
