Emtek Single Cylinder Deadbolt Installation Guide

1. Door Preparation

Prepare the door by ensuring the correct measurements for the backset and bore holes.

Diagram shows a door edge and face. Key measurements indicated are:

Backset: 2 3/8" or 2 3/4" (distance from door edge to center of bore).
Main Bore Diameter: 2 1/8".
Edge Bore Diameter: 1".
Edge Bore Depth: 1/8".

2. Door Jamb Preparation

Prepare the door jamb for the strike plate installation.

Strike Plate Cut-out Depth: 3/16".
Distance from Door Face to Strike Plate Center: 1 1/4".

3. Install Latch

Insert the latch mechanism into the prepared edge bore of the door.

4. Outside Installation

Install the deadbolt on the exterior side of the door.

For Regular Doors:

Install the deadbolt on a regular door.

For Thin Doors (with Extension Ring):

Install the deadbolt on a thin door using the provided Extension Ring. This is for the following products: 8423, 8454, 8466, 8468, 8458, 8459, 8467, 8469, 8475.

For Thin Doors (with Extension Collar):

Install the deadbolt on a thin door using the provided Extension Collar. This is for the following products: 8455, 8464.

5. Inside Installation

Complete the installation by mounting the interior components of the deadbolt.
