Emtek Door Lock Installation Guide
This guide provides instructions for installing Emtek passage, privacy, and dummy door locks.
1. Door Prep
Ensure the door is prepared for installation. The backset can be either 2 3/8" or 2 3/4".
A 2 1/8" diameter bore hole is required for the lockset.
A 1" diameter edge bore hole is required for the latch.
The edge bore should be 1/16" deep.
2. Door Jamb Prep
Prepare the door jamb for the strike plate. The strike plate should be installed into a mortise that is 2 1/4" deep.
3. Install Strike Plate
Fasten the strike plate to the door jamb using the provided #8 wood screws.
4. Install Latch
Place the Plastic Alignment Tool into the bore hole. Insert the latch and fasten it with two #8 wood screws (provided).
An arrow on the latch indicates the direction pointing towards the door edge.
5. Install Outside and Inside Trims
Step 1: Position the outside trim through the bore hole. Ensure the release hole aligns with the privacy pin on the inside of the door.
Step 2: Fasten the inside trim using two #8 machine screws (provided). Install the Privacy Pin.
Dummy Installation
Surface mount the dummy lock to the door using the provided wood screws. Tighten the set screw to secure the Rosette and Lever to the threaded stud using the provided hex wrench.
