Emtek Key in Knob/Lever Lock Installation Guide
Re-Pinning Cylinder (OPTIONAL)
This section provides optional steps for re-pinning the cylinder.
Step 1: Ensure the small hole on the cylinder faces downwards.

Step 2: Insert the key and rotate it 90 degrees counterclockwise while simultaneously pressing a wire into the small hole.

Step 3: Slide the knob or lever off the stem.

Step 4: After re-pinning the cylinder, insert the knob or lever onto the stem.
Important Note: Before inserting the knob/lever onto the stem, ensure the cylinder tailpiece is vertical as shown.

Preparation
Door Preparation
Proper door preparation is essential for a successful installation. Ensure the following dimensions are met:
- Hole on door face diameter: 2 1/8 inches
- Hole on door edge diameter: 1 inch
- Backset: 2 3/8 inches or 2 3/4 inches
- Door edge preparation depth: 1/8 inch

Install Strike Plate
Fasten the strike plate to the door frame using two #8 x 3/4 inch wood screws.

Installation Steps
Install Latch
Install the latch mechanism into the door edge bore. Fasten it securely using two #8 x 3/4 inch wood screws.

Remove Inside Rosette
Remove the inside knob/lever by loosening the set screw with the provided hex wrench. Subsequently, unthread the inside rosette counterclockwise from its housing before proceeding with installation on the door.

Installing Inside Chassis
Fasten the inside chassis to the door using two #8-32 x 1½ inch pan head machine screws. Crucially, ensure the thumbturn and flat spindle are positioned horizontally for correct installation.

Installing Inside Trim
Secure the inside rosette to the door by threading it clockwise onto the stem. After placing the knob/lever onto the stem, tighten the set screw to finalize the attachment.
